I made a list on another website. It's not quite uptodate and I missed a few minor names but it's good until around mid december.

A few others I can think of are;
George Martin,
Greg Lake,
Keith Emerson,
Rick Parfitt,
Mohammad Ali,
Pete Burns,
John Glenn (astronaught),
Dave Cash,
and Ed Stewart.

And you care only to the extent that it gives you some shit to talk about
It's a forum - that's what we do, the purpose of this forum is to talk about shit!

In some cases, we leave out the 'about' part

Cheered myself up today by watching a BBC NEWS special about all the famous people who died this year. There was well over a hundred. I had no idea Colonel Abrahams died.

Cohen didn't so much die, as pop upstairs to have a quiet word about what a shitty job the deity was doing.

Seriously however he just kind of finished, tidied up and moved on. The most positive check out I've known. I hope one day to be in the position to say Hineni, hineni

Gilli Smyth died in August.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilli_Smyth

Co-founder of Gong along with Daevid Allen who we sadly lost last year.

Won't mean a lot to those who didn't know their work, which is probably most!

I've never bumped into another Gong fan in my years on DS
.

An example of their work:

The Isle Of Everywhere - from the 'You' album 1974 .

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9knIlUc5Cs
Gong fan here. *waves*

I don't tend to listen to them very often these days, but I did listen to Daevid Allen's Now Is The Happiest Time Of Your Life the other week. I'd forgotten how much I love his stuff. I highly recommend anyone who hasn't heard any to click on the link.

Listened to them loads in my early twenty's along with all manner of obscure psychedelic bands.

Is he? Nice of him to show up on such an important day for him.

Shame about George, though.

Gallows humour, and I know I shouldn't have, but it made me chuckle.

Still lots of time left yet...
Someone could be choking on their Christmas turkey as we speak.
This exchange suddenly feels less lighthearted.

RIP George.
