Ok. I did and the very first result returned unequivocally agreed with me.

There were some other results which used ambiguous weasely words to try and justify your misunderstanding.

Tesco were actually removing everything Christmas eve. Ready for the sale items like duvets etc. And yep the Easter eggs are out today

You see all these people running about like the shops aren't going to be open for 6 days, Today in Tesco everything was back fully stocked with the staff there as miserable as sin. Best Christmas present was moving”

It's Valentines' Day stuff in the Supermarket near by me

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twelve_Days_of_Christmas

The 12 days of Christmas - 25th December to the 5th of January, so many (some?) people take down their decorations, etc. on 6th January when it's all over (which is what we used to do when we were younger).

For those arguing about it

We take our decs down on 12th night, but for us it begins 12 days before the 25th. That's what we consider the Christmas period.

You can't just subtract 25 from 31. You need to include the 25th as day 1.
It's 7 days.
Christmas ends at midnight on Jan 5th. The 6th is Epiphany.

That's good to hear.
This is the second-last year was just awful, this year I'm just waiting for it to quietly pass by. I know things will get better in time, some close friends are in the same position.

I took the decorations off the tree today, it's now stood in the corner all bare and sorrowful waiting to go to the dump tomorrow. We saw family pre Christmas this year when it's normally after so come Boxing Day that was it. Post Christmas has felt a bit flat this year.

Have a bit of a dilemma with the Xmas Tree, if I don't take it down this weekend then it won't be able to go to the tree chipper until the following Saturday, so either it goes down before New Year's Day or it gets to stay up until the 6th

Probably will take down the other decorations on New Year's Day but I'll leave the tree with its lights until the Friday as I hate to see it just dumped in the garage for several days waiting to be carted out
