This is so poor we've switched it off.... Just scene after scene of absolulte rubbish!

Far too much Peter, Nick and Leanne - Has been done to death a million times.

Half the cast seem to be missing.

Platts featuring heavily but no Gail or Audrey.

Mary hiding at Dev's but no Dev or the kids.

Liz missing at the Rovers.

And it's stunningly disjointed. If it wasn't for the fact that it's being shown on Christmas Day you would never know that this was a Christmas Day episode.

ITV serving up virtually unwatchable vapid bilge on Christmas Day.

Terrible. Terrible. Terrible.

Agree completely.

Absolutely abysmal, terrible.

Just a random collection of characters doing random things for random reasons.

Indeed. I don't think I've ever seen such a terrible episode on Christmas Day.

Can't believe they've introduced so many new characters at this time of year.

Christmas should be about consolidating the existing cast and exploring relationships between neighbours.

Instead we have the skank at the church, Bethany's new pimp, Toyah's husband as well as Toyah herself.

So much time devoted to pointless characters and storylines. This should have been all about Toyah but she has spent most of the episode standing around like a stunned mullet.

Utterly abysmal and I don't care how many times I say it.

Coronation Street is an EMBARRASSMENT and an INSULT to loyal viewers.

Only just seen this thread (made one of my own saying the exact same thing).

It was the worst episode I can remember. So horrifically disappointing. I actually found it excruciatingly bad and can't believe it was allowed to go out. A total disjointed shambles with half the cast missing and the script chucked together.

The problem isn't the randomness, but the shockingly bad coincidences that are contrived:

Toyah going out with Peter who happens to be her sisters ex - even though Toyah hasn't been in the street for years.
The Shona storyline. Of all the ragamuffins in Manchester Billy finds Shona in the vestry slurping the altar wine, a fortnight after she nicks David's wallet who lives on the same street.
I'm sure there were more contrivances on display - the writing on Coronation Street goes from bad to worse.

How can Sara-lou afford an apple watch for Bethany when she only does about 10 minutes work a week serving in the Rovers. And why is Phelan in a five star hotel instead of a hospital, without a scratch on him.

So while Fake Gavin was running around after Phelan where was Steph? How did he explain not spending Christmas Day with her?

The Barlows were sitting down to Christmas dinner, Peter goes outside for air, has a fight with Nick and then goes off to a hotel to sh*g Toyah. Didn't the Barlows wonder what happened to him? Did they ever actually start Christmas dinner?

The whole episode was an utter shambles!

And Mary in Dev's house - but no sign of Dev, Erica, Asha or Aidi

We could have had Sally have quick calls to Sophie / Rosie off screen. Anything to make the families seem tighter.

We SHOULD have seen Rita. Gail and Audrey SHOULD have been there. Kevin SHOULD have been there. Dare I say it, Tyrone and Fiz SHOULD have been there.

Speaking of Phelan, has anyone noticed the embarrassingly bad pantomime villain look he gives to the camera when he is planning a dastardly deed?

The makers of CS must think that their viewers are mentally challenged

Some of the models of Apple watch are about £200. She could likely afford that just from her savings. Also, Gail might have put something towards it.

Indeed, she may have a catalogue or something, we do not need to be spoonfed such details, we can work it out for ourselves.

Peter Barlow is morphing into the next Phil Mitchell, implausibly bedding all these women.
