The Lion King was an excelent film for Christmas Day not ITV, as was Frozen for BBC1. POG Dogs was the only thing I watched live bar TLK.

I think I'd rather next year BBC and ITV kept dramas off the main day, and just showed films and LE.

I don't expect there's going to be anything on the main channels that I want to watch and I wasn't disappointed

Only University Challenge on BBC2

Apart from that I've been flicking the documentary channels and had a few things on about Ancient Egypt and the Bible History but I've mainly been on here most of the day.............

There was nothing really spectacular on for Christmas. I'm in a festive ( ) mood, so here is a list of what was watched in our house today:

-Doctor Who
-Uni Challenge
-The Snowman / The Snowman & The Snowdog
-Steptoe and Son Ride Again
-Mrs Brown's Boys

Planning to watch The Last Dragonslayer on catch up.

dire...... it comes to something when the three main soaps dominate the evenings with hour long specials.

i ended up watching Dallas box set....

where was the family entertainment? films? ok but you can see them any time of the year.

i used to really enjoy mike yardwood followed by morcame and wise - good, new, all round family fun. and wheres the xmas ghost story that used to be on late?..

they just dont seem to make an effort anymore, theres all year to watch soaps, crimbo episodes are often naff.. the point is that if you dont like soaps and many dont, it knocks a huge hole in your crimbo night viewing.

Christmas tv has been rubbish for a few years.

Why anyone wants hour long special soaps of depressing and shouting idiots is beyond me.

As usual, dire.
I watched a few DVDs of my "Justified," box set.
Annoyed my wife a bit by playing some Christmas tunes on my electric piano. She said she was sick of Christmas by Christmas morning.

It was an insult to the intelligence. Bake Off and Strictly crap, on Christmas Day???

Where were all the highly paid 'talent' the BBC throws money at?????

ITV and CH4 and much higher paid "talent", where were they? As always, after the Queen, the largest audiences went to the BBC despite the moans here and all the money that ITV and CH4 have to burn.

Was out for lunch at a local carvery with family which didn't finish until after five!

Later when I got home I watched my recordings of The Queen then Frozen in two parts around Christmas University Challenge, which I watched live..

(Although I'm getting on, I thought I should watch Frozen as I have never seen it and it gets talked about quite a lot! Apparently it's the highest grossing animated film ever. Enjoyed it a lot.)

Utter crap in all honesty and have done for quite a few years now. I'm not a fan of any the big entertainment shows so I don't like the Christmas Day line up in general as its nothing I would normally watch. I only watched POGDogs, Call The Midwife and The Good Old Days. Had radio 2 on all day apart from that!

Eastenders was wonderful, not sensationalist, it was warm, nostalgic, and cheerful, everyone in the pub sing songs etc.. Dot's Xmas eve story was hard hitting, raw and emotional and above all real and made you think of the elderly this time of year.

If you are a fan of 80s Eastenders go watch xmas eve and xmas day episodes on i player.

I've often laughed at those who complain about the festive schedule, but we had to get the DVD's out this year. It was just far too many channels of far too little.

I thought today was brilliant by comparison

Full afternoon and early evening of live football and racing

Then I've got loads of stuff circled on the main channels - University Challenge, The Entire Universe, Outnumbered, Big Fat Quiz of the Year, Royal Institution Christmas Lecture, Bob Monkhouse's Last Stand............

Famine followed by Feast
