I've always had the feeling that the so called "special relationship" is a very one sided affair, with the US sort of tolerating us like some sort of 'needy' insecure partner in a relationship "of course you are very special to me," says the US "do you really really really mean it" says the UK, "yes of course you silly thing you know how important you are to me" (rolling their eyes) "so I am your favourite then"? says the UK, "OH ffs" thinks the US
"yes yes yes you are my bestest friend ever, now go and play with the others, I have grown up stuff to attend to"
You want to find out just how 'special' their relationship with us is? watch what happens in ANY left wing party looks like becoming the government.
they would, I am certain, demonstrate the very same American love of freedom and democracy that they have shown all around the world to nations who democratically elect left wing governments.
Oh yes I am certain they would have no problem 'liberating' us back to freedom and democracy as they have with so many other nations, just ask the people of Vietnam and many south American countries.
