Nice legacy you're leaving there, Mr Farage...

Predictable. I've no idea how the Brits manage to sustain the delusion that America is their friend. The only country the US really has a special relationship with is Israel.

Yes, it's like going to bed with the Fairy Queen and waking up with her nasty old granny. At last we now know where we stand with the big knobs of the US. Just a convenient offshore facility close to the EU, a mere stepping stone on the way to their material success. And we are supposed to think these US mega-egos give a toss about the so-called 'special relationship'? What a joke that greasy spoon Farage is, sucking-up to these people. Wise up, UK, your real friends are much closer to home!

The UK has the same special relationship with the US as the US has with Israel - it exists only when useful to the latter.

Does survey of world's deserts.

Takes flight to the Sahara desert.

Hires ten JCBs.

Builds 200 foot sandcastle.

Moves into said sand castle.

Builds basement in sandcastle.

Hires giant sand jets.

Has 100 tonnes of sand sprayed at sandcastle while still occupied, knocking it down and getting buried.

Proclaims Herr Farage, the man who used Christmas to attack the Church of England and is a tax burden to British society, to be doing what's best for the country.

Objection: This is Trump we're talking about.

The small knobs have taken over the asylum.

You have said two things there which have no relevance to this story whatsoever.

No. Don't believe this at all. All these nations were desperate to sign favorable trade and business deals with the UK post Brexit. That's what we're told. Don't tell me this was another.....lie!!!!

Actually, what did people expect? In all honesty, the decision that was taken last June becomes more utterly stupid as the days move on.

They'll sign favourable deals. Favourable to them. It's what happens when you put yourself as the beggar. They know UK is desperate and exploit they will. All unnecessary of course.

Business is about seizing an opportunity, and for Britain to think the rest of World won't see Brexit as an opportunity for themselves is beyond belief.

Newspaper reports on Brexit are like those sports stories where a Britain coming third is reported but not who came 1st and 2nd.

America is in affect a trading block of 51 States which has Free Movement of People. The incoming President wants to weaken other countries so he can impose new or revised trade deals on those countries. Trump along with the help of British traitor Farage will attempt to use Brexit to smash the EU, so that America can dominate Europe.

I've always had the feeling that the so called "special relationship" is a very one sided affair, with the US sort of tolerating us like some sort of 'needy' insecure partner in a relationship "of course you are very special to me," says the US "do you really really really mean it" says the UK, "yes of course you silly thing you know how important you are to me" (rolling their eyes) "so I am your favourite then"? says the UK, "OH ffs" thinks the US
"yes yes yes you are my bestest friend ever, now go and play with the others, I have grown up stuff to attend to"

You want to find out just how 'special' their relationship with us is? watch what happens in ANY left wing party looks like becoming the government.

they would, I am certain, demonstrate the very same American love of freedom and democracy that they have shown all around the world to nations who democratically elect left wing governments.
Oh yes I am certain they would have no problem 'liberating' us back to freedom and democracy as they have with so many other nations, just ask the people of Vietnam and many south American countries.

If you want to know how special Britain is to the US just look at the way they behaved during the Suez Crisis. And all that crap about them saving your asses during WW2 is lies too. America only joined that war because the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbour, they were saving their own asses not yours.

Why would anyone in their right mind think that a nationalist/isolationist like Trump would make an exception to the UK when it comes to screwing over as many countries as he sees fit if it meets with his infantile notions of how things should be.

Indeed anyone who does believe he would should really worry because it would probably mean he thinks he can line Tessie and British troops up behind him for some crazy foreign intervention...maybe a US/UK/Russian assault on China?

It's forecast by 2025 China economically will be number one, I suspect Trump will do all he can to stop that...it may explain the friendliness expressed to Putin, who leading a financially weak Russia....Trump creates an ally with Russia against China.

China is building islands to control sea lanes.

As for the UK, a cynical Trump could cut a good deal with the UK in his attempt to break up the EU to give American companies free reign in Europe.

Trump has already indicated he is quite willing to tear up any agreement once it has served its purpose.

Some people in Britain seemed to have assumed his pro-Brexit comments were proof that he loves the UK and is opposed to the EU but when an interviewer asked him for his opinion of Brexit in May this year, he didn't even know what the word 'Brexit' meant or what he was being asked about (he presumably came to like the idea a few weeks later because he liked the right wing nationalist / isolationist sound of it).

Does anyone think that when we sign a trade agreement with, say, Canada, that we'll be doing so for the benefit of the Canadian people?

Of course not. So don't expect the Americans to do us any favours. At least Obama was telling the truth, even if his motives were not pure.

Any advantageous terms we may get from Trump will not be due to any love of the country. The notion is absurd.

China already owns half the UK so it is no shock the US wants to beat them at their own game.

This was happening long before Brexit with all the FDI taking over British Companies.

Yeah, and the notion the US wants an unstable UK and a competent EU is also absurd.

They only wanted us in the EU so they could have more influence along with how Hollande was Obama's French poodle.

They know Germany / China are their biggest threats in terms of being No.1.

Dems are already dismissing a Trump presidency by calling Merkel now the leader of the Western world.
