Hang on. Wasn't there a poll discussed last week on DS which showed the Brexit vote was holding up well despite all the doom and gloom peddled by the Remainer camp? Under the title of fifty something percent would still vote to leave, or something like that.

And that was a proper statistical poll by a pollster which predicted in its last poll on 22 June that remain would win by 8 per cent.

So if leave is now ahead on that pollster then leave must now be nearly 10 per cent ahead in the real world - assuming that pollster is as wrong now as it was then.

But it's only a poll - we had the only vote that counts on 23 June. We don't tell every government that moves to second in the polls that it should Resign immediately and call a general election.

I'm not so sure. I still think there's only a slightly better than even chance that we will actually leave the EU in the full sense of what not being in the EU means.

They didn't 'take' anything. Our Government gave them away willingly. Never forget that.

Indeed. And it is also the responsibility of the UK Government to ensure that rights and freedoms are protected, not the EU's.

So if you feel that these have been removed, hold the UK Government to account. Not the EU. They have nothing to do with it. Any blame lies with Messrs Heath, Wilson, Callaghan, Thatcher, Major, Blair, Brown, Cameron and May.

I've not met anybody who's changed their minds and most people who went with Remain are ready for Brexit.

We had a vote and they lost. What do they want? Another vote to settle the previous one.

1) staying in the Single Market or not is not in the Government''s powers to decide

As someone who used to work in the Passport Office, I have to ask what on earth are you talking about? The UK government issues passports, not the EU.

Old blues were easy to forge. EU standardised passports are much more secure than the old UK ones.

The fact that they didn't has merely condemned them to a lost generation of recriminations when the inevitable happens, Renault has one of its periodical crises (and it'll happen, because the management at Renault is bloody incompetent) and decides to take the easy option of closing the non-EU factory.

It's the Leave voters who are taking away our freedom by preventing us to travel around Europe easily and to be able to work there without restrictions.

Nope. It' the Leave campaigners, and specifically those in the Tory Party who now hold power who will be doing that.

I would like to argue that this is an unfair statement for the following reason:

There are 2 ways you can do a survey:

1- carefully constructing your cohort, and guaranteeing the accuracy of the outcome on the voting intentions that way

2- online self-selection, and accepting that there will be some noise (eg inelegible voters going one way or the other) and - crucially - also accepting that in theory, by the law of Large Numbers, the noise should cancel out: eg an inelegible voter clicking Remain vs another one clicking 'Leave'.

That's not a particular "Remainers" thing.
