It's been ten years yesterday since Pauline died in the snow

Now ten years later her daughter returns to the SQ

Was this mentioned on screen last night??

In real life would you say to someone. "Oh your back your mum died 10 years ago and now your here" bit contrived.

I think Wendy / Pauline deserved a better exit. The EP and writers literally did a character assasination job on Pauline because Wendy was not happy. Had they gave her happy farewell to join Michelle and she died off-screen that would have been better.

Martin and Derek mentioned her earlier this month, and Derek said he was unable to attend the funeral but sent flowers. It is odd that Michelle hasn't mentioned Pauline yet but mentioned Arthur which is strange

Agreed - not only was Derek absent (although he says he sent her flowers), but so too were Sharon Watts, Vicki Fowler and Michelle herself - who previously had not been able to make the funeral of her brother Mark, plus other big family events (happy or sad) and thus has to be the biggest offender in EE when it comes to failing to return to Albert Square when you would expect her to.

Also absent from Pauline's funeral was Dr. Harold Legg, even though he appeared a few months later in a one-to-one with Dot Branning - and had previously attended Mark's funeral, three years earlier.

No but you'd expect Martin and Michelle saying it's the tenth anniversary

Sharon had just left the square after the loss of Dennis. It could be excused that she was too upset about deaths to attend.

I'm pretty sure my earliest memory of EastEnders is her death, did she die in the middle of the square? I also remember some bits and pieces from before but nothing proper.

Then perhaps if Dennis had not been murdered - that is, he and Sharon had fled to the US before Johnny Allen got arrange for Dennis to be killed - Sharon would have returned for Pauline's funeral, but without Dennis?
