CS/ED: Denise Black
Anyone think she's on her way back to Corrie as Denise, Ken's much-mentioned ex? It feels like her Emmerdale character is on the way out....and the actress just pulled out of panto earlier this month- was it to take on her Corrie return?

I have thought for weeks she must be going to Corrie as her character in ED has lost her job and now Zack and Corrie keep mentioning her. Plus Ken's been single for a while so maybe Denise will be his girlfriend again.

Yes 100% I think she'll be back in Corrie soon. I think KO had this in mind all along and will have spoken to Denise about this months ago whilst she was still contracted to Emmerdale.
I think Denise knew ED was always going to come to an end as it was inevitable Zak and Lisa would get back together at some point, so probably jumped at the chance of going back to Corrie, where let's face it, she played a much more interesting character than she does in ED (well IMO anyway !)

It is possible especially as Kate Oats Is now in Charge of Corrie
She could have lured her away, and I think Corrie means more to Denise than ED tbh |

I would like to see her in Corrie. I think she's great. I saw her in some crime series and she was good in that too. I think it was The Vice. Emmerdale asked her to grow her grey hair in to play Joanie. I wonder if she'll want to go dark again if she leaves Emmerdale? I can't actually remember her in Coronation Street so don't recall her hair. I liked her dark hair. Her current hair is well cut mind you. She has an interesting face. Nice eyes.

Yes, definitely on her way to Corrie I'd have thought. The Barlows need her - it missing a matriarch and none of the adult generation of Barlows are in a long term committed relationship with anyone feisty enough to take them all on and keep them in check. If it all goes well, I don't see why Denise couldn't be back for 10/20 years - that's the kind of commitment the Barlows need.
Of course such talk makes me miss Deidre. Such a shame she's not involved in the reinvigoration of the Barlows - she would have loved it (although perhaps not so much Daniel). |
