It has been unmemorable. In fact, I can't remember one interesting thing (in my personal life).

Besides getting married, it has been utter shite. Work has been horrible, my future-Grandfather-in-law passed away weeks before the wedding and it's just been an odd year, hasnt it?

Nope, it's been awful. I still haven't got a PhD supervisor (got turned down by every lecturer I talked to) and I fell out with my favourite lecturer. I really hope 2017 will be better.

I had one wonderful week long break in North Norway to celebrate a special birthday, but apart from that, bad fall and broke a rib, surprise reaction to a medical examination (more time in hospital), went to 3 funerals - two were next door neighbours, my husband went to 4 - so a bit rough really,

It's been a challenge. First part of the year was tough financially, but through family support and encouragement, I've stuck with it and now getting regular work.

A couple of lifelong friends of the family have passed on, as did my parent's dog. She was "only" my parent's but I loved that silly thing and it put me on a downer for a few weeks when she had to be put to sleep at the start of the year.
On the plus side I've lost a lot of weight which has done wonders for my confidence. Also experienced some new things and have developed new interests making new friends in the process. Financially things have been stable. Overall I'm feeling more positive than negative and hopeful for the future. ![]() Hope everyone has a great 2017. |

No, it's been a PITA really. My husband has been attacked twice while working, someone crashed into him last week and wrote the car off. My mum has just been diagnosed with cancer. We've all had a nice xmas together though, I couldn't ask for a better family, we all stick together.

My year was awful until September (due to financial difficulties) and then it picked up some.

Pretty shit really.
I was off work with severe anxiety. While off, I was diagnosed with 3 severely diseased coronary arteries. I suppose on the plus side (if you can call it that?) if I hadn't have been off work with anxiety, I never would have found out about my heart condition. |

Personally, the year has had its ups and downs:
we lost my mother-in-law on January 3rd to cancer which was very sad, but over the summer I attended the weddings of two of my nieces which were lovely family events, and I had an enjoyable family holiday in September ... but then recently I've fallen out with my best friend of 30+ years over something stupid which has depressed me so I'm hoping we can patch things up in the New Year. But Brexit and Trump have both been , on top of all the amazing talent that we have lost this year

Pretty good tbh. New job and new town, both of which are improvements on the previous. Two great holidays and met some cool new people. Also the first year for sometime in which a family member hasn't passed away
Happy about brexit and to say bye bye to Cameron and Osbourne. Ambivalent about trump. On the downside, no more what.cd |

There have been very good and very awful times this year. I think this could be described as the year of getting my head out my arse if I'm being honest, which long story was one of the best parts. Reliasations being reached that is. Worst was easily one of my best friends OD'ing a week after my birthday. I didn't see that one coming.
But still not the worst year. |

Last year was my worst so this year was better. I'm working 2 jobs now so that helps keep things looking positive. Being unable or not permitted to work can really get a person down.
