Closely following Caroline Aherne. Another casualty of this appalling year although at 95 it's not as if she was cut down early as many others have been in 2016.

Never saw her in Royle Family but loved her in Vicar Of Dibley and 2.4 Children.

But I honestly thought she died a few years ago.

What is up with some people?!!.. aged 95 and people are saying things like this!!.....Its hardly a shock is it and certainly nothing that should be added to the so called terrible list of 2016 deaths!

Sadly we are at that time where all the stars a lot of people grew up with will start dying off.

It's a heck of a good innings. If I ever make it to 95 I'll wonder how it ever happened - and I'm still 43 years away from then. She reminds me of what my gran said way back in 2002, a year before my nan died, about Liz's character in The Royle Family (RIP nan!) - she sounds as crazy as I am!

RIP Liz.

Awww, that's sad to hear. I must admit that I thought she had already died, probably because her character had in The Royle Family.

As someone younger than that and reading about her now I think it's nice that she got what she considered her big break when she was approaching 50 years of age. It's a bit later in life than normal, somewhat inspirational and a good lesson regarding perseverance.

More like 276 million. Probably more when you factor in the weather.

[Edit] Scratch that. I read it wrong. It's more like 760,000 over 5 days.

I posted on the TV forum on Thursday saying I thought it was insensitive showing the episode " Queen of Sheba" knowing that Liz was currently very poorly in hospital.
The BBC may not have known this but for me it was uncomfortable viewing.
RIP Liz and best wishes to your son. X

It was one of her standout performances though, so I don't think it was insensitive.
