Currently BBC1 HD has no sound. Have rung BBC and they say they are aware of the problems and technicians are currently looking into it.

Don't know whether this is just West Mids or all the country?

I've had this too on C54 Winter Hill. As soon as the BBC1 HD weather forecast finished the sound went, approx 22.54. The sound on the other HD channels on C54 is normal. I checked the signal strength and it's at 100%.

I went online and checked my transmitter for problems via: http://www.bbc.co.uk/reception and no faults have been reported against my postcode on the Freeview platform. I checked Google and no results in the last hour or the last 24 hours.

I used the diagnostic tool here: https://www.radioandtvhelp.co.uk/dia...fault-checker/ and said I wanted to report a technical fault with a BBC service. I wasn't sure whether it was a transmitter problem so I put 'Other', and then described the problem, what I'd done, and provided a link to this thread.

I've got the sound back now though. For info my TV is a Samsung UE40D6530 and I'm using the onboard tuner. Edit to say lost the sound again for 1 sec just now 00.22.

Seems it was quite wide as the announcer apologized for it.

It affected BBC 1 HD in all English regions, on all platforms, and BBC 1 HD in Scotland, however Scotland restored the sound albeit in 2.0 quite quickly
