That was always the type of Brexit that would result from leaving under a Tory government. And it makes perfect sense from a right wing pov, but the people I've always wondered about were the Bennite types who thought they were voting for something left wing by leaving the EU. Talk about turkeys voting for Christmas.
if clean brexit is now the new name for our EU exit and does mean us getting our 12 billion a year back plus control of our borders ie migration and also our fishing then i think it will be a big success with joe public. i dont think we can compromise and stay half in the EU like norway or switzerland as we arent some minnow that needs a club to belong to. also what can the remainers come up with that beats it.

Isn't that what the coal lobby did? They created "clean coal" - it's still terrible for the environment, but it sounds better so let's get mining!

When there were regular smogs in London there wasn't bed blocking of hospital beds, the reason....elderly patients were killed off by smog.
In a civilised caring forward looking country such as Britain outside the EU, we can get those skiving doctors back to working 100 hours a week.
People especially pregnant women will be encouraged to drink and smoke to push up the death rate...to reduce the need for new schools & housing.
It's the Brexit non politically correct way of thinking that will create manufacturing jobs for skilled construction workers such as coffin makers....watch Chapell's shares rocket and the City makes a killing.

Also, the UK can scrape laws that prevent children being sent up chimney's to clean them, it gives them backbone.
The regulations covering cars must cost billions, it's time to ditch them, let's put lead back into paint, what harm can it do.

You do know net non EU migration is higher than EU migration, don't you? How's that control playing with Joe Public?
And how do you think control of our fishing will be seen as a big success with Joe Public when the amount of fishing we do doesn't change? Don;t you think Joe Public will feel a bit cheated?

Us Bennite types rationalised that the only way we would get out of the EU was via poisonous Tory infighting and UKIP agitating. And it was about democracy, not a particular left wing viewpoint.
Pure ideology only goes so far and then you have to be pragmatic to achieve ultimate aims. Labour were never going to give us a referendum and the Greens would never gain power, at least in most of our lifetimes.
Once we are out there will be opportunities to elect British governments with better social policies for a long term future.
