Right I finally got to watch it. On I player last night . I found it not good , Jonathan's wife I found cardboard and imo not needed acting apalling Mr Warwick was ok it never showed us he he drove his car I mean the special adaptations required, and really would a vicar be allowed to be 3 ft just a thought overall a bit far fetched story, and as I used to enjoy the old series's in the windmill with Caroline Quintin this I don't .

And where have you got this "general consensus" from?
If from this thread then most comment contributors said they enjoyed it more than they thought they would or very much enjoyed it full stop. Admitting it wasn't the best JC ever certainly isn't saying it was poor. Most comments in this thread surround plot details where trying to find motives and picking holes is a big part of the pleasure. |

Ignore that poster, they pop up in all sorts of threads expressing their hate for various persons/programmes on tv and then continue watching the show week after week, popping back to remind us why they hate them.
Am I supposed to ask your permission about which threads I can post in? Or ask your permission about what views I can post? Or do I need to check your views first in case I disagree, to make sure I only ever post something that you agree with? Bizarre. Truly truly bizarre. |

I love all the people suggesting that Jonathan "ditches his wife". Have you seen her?

Why would we need to see how he drives? We can all guess that he has an adapted car. As for his height and being a vicar, Does that matter either? No
So for me attention to detail |

I did find it fairly enjoyable - but the issue is that with the sheer amount of quality tv there is available I don't think that's good enough reason to spend the time watching it. The only reason I do watch is because I remember just how good it used to be and I hope each time that it will recapture some of that magic (the same reason I kept watching the Royle Family christmas specials).

have just started watching it and do feel that if they had to marry him off it should have been to someone he has some chemistry with.
but my question is - what happened to Adam Klaus the magician who worked with JC in the early episodes? - I really miss him and the humour of them working together. Am bored with this - hence typing whilst watching - but will stick it out as used to love it. |

Just finished watching it. It was terrible, probably the worst JC there's ever been... but I enjoyed it nevertheless.
![]() ![]() The good: Warwick Davis, would like to see that character back again Umm... .. errr... ... The bad: Anti-money / antimony The 90 degree turn Hobgoblin / haemoglobin Not enough Ken Bones I really miss Adam Klaus ![]() Creek's missus: why is she always so peed off with him? It's tiring. The big haunted house / stately home AGAIN

Who was the escaped/released prisoner who hid in the box and why was he after Jonathan? Had it any bearing on the case - was he blamed for the first wife's death? Sorry to be thick, but completely missed what that was about.

Ah yes thanks - he was the guy the vicar had mistakenly thought had "turned over a new leaf"?

He was convicted in a previous episode as a result of Jonathan's work. He would have got away with it if it hadn't been for those darned kids ... er ... Creek, etc. The vicar had visited him in jail which was how he found out about Jonathan's new whereabouts. No immediate bearing on the present case.

To me it makes not one iota of difference at all to the plot line (why would it?) but if you are that curious about Warwick and his car he and his family did a holiday type programme once where he was driving.

No special car and a vicar who was too short? Are you for real? |

That's why we are all different, some of us want to learn things see things, understand things. Not just about this average TV episode. But in life general. Can you comprend?

Fictional drama often includes the best exposition of an eternal truth.

I could see how this might be relevant if he played a car thief or taxi driver but not really a vicar. Warwick's daughter Annabelle is an actress and could make an interesting young sidekick. |

The biggest saving grace of the episode was Warwick Davis. He was the best thing in the plot and was a welcome addition.

I thought it was 1 of the better JC episodes that we have had since it was brought back.
