This is great so far. Warwick Davies fits right in.

I quite like his wife. She's my favourite of all the women he's been partnered with. I've never understood the popularity of Maddie (possibly because I find Carolyn Quentin annoying whatever role she's playing).

I do wish he still lived in the lovely windmill though.

Hope tonight's episode is a return to the old (high) standard of writing.
I would like him in the Windmill but they would no longer be allowed to use it. It was handed back to the landowner from the trust who looked after it. Since then it has been allowed to fall into disrepair.

Have the box set of JC and love the earlier episodes.

The past few specials haven't lived up to its best and tonight's show isn't grabbing me at all

A theme of these specials is Creek being sidelined or something of a supporting character - A trait that can also be seen in Doctor Who under Moffat. Looks like this one is no exception.

This is just terrible

Yet again we have to put up with the frustration of watching Polly stopping Jonathan doing what we tune in to watch.

My theory is the men are falling vertically into the fire and it just looks horizontal because of the camera angle.

Yeah he gave that away about 20 minutes ago when they said it would take a strong force to make them fly across the room and he said "or a very weak force" because Gravity is known as the weakest of the fundamental forces. Although a woman manacled to the wall instead of the floor should really feel the difference.

And the vicar was the pixie in the woods who wrote to JC as a child.

Didn't they have to get him to release JC's leg? Surprised that the police didn't have more to say about it though.

Saw that coming.

Bad explanation for the other mystery (should have left out any siblings).

Only because he came out of the booth and stood next to the hole.

Pulls lever, opens trap door, man falls in, pushes lever, traps man, exits booth, no need to burn a man to death. 😁

What was the point of the subplot with the guy trying to kill JC?

It was similar to the main plot of the fake CCTV guy who wants to kill someone.
JC has often had the twist answer given in the side plots.

Surprised to see nothing but complaints so far.

it was miles better than the mini series a few years ago, and I enjoyed it from start to finish.

Some people are just difficult to please I guess. Yes it could of been half an hour shorter but I didn't mind. A decent job by Renwick.

Easy on par with some of series 4 and 3 for me.

That was the most boring 90 minutes I'll never get back.

Please BBC, put JC to rest.

The early episodes were great... I don't want to say what I think of the last few.

It was okay but it just didn't flow as smoothly as the earlier ones.
