Borders and Highlands are the nicest scenic roads of Scotland and they are usually quiet off the beaten track.
![]() I hate city centres... Too many lanes and if your not familiar end up in the wrong lane and committed to going in the wrong direction until you can turn off at next junction ![]() I've also noticed Great Western Road is not as nice as it was 20 years ago. |

When I am in Glasgow ( about once every two years) I keep or kept getting stuck in right turn only lanes.. I could not understand how that was happening.. Its that where I am we don't have those types of lanes any more the road gets wider and the lanes separate leaving the lane I am in to go ahead and the new lane to do the right turn. It really bugged me but when I realised what was wrong I was OK.. .. Road markings in Glasgow were awful and was not helping
![]() I made sure I kept on the right to avoid being trapped on the left where strangely it switches in and out of bus lanes ![]() On my way back in the city centre I noticed quite a few cars at junctions straddling in one lane and pointing their nose in the next because they were in the wrong lane. |
