what age to you begin to tell everyone your age? eg.... i'm 85 you know....so people are impressed you have lived that long !

i'd say when you get over 80, then again I say it and i'm 56 because people think I look younger !

It's all subjective.

Men and women feel differently about disclosing ones age.

Women will generally hint at men to ask them their age especially ones over 50/60 if they rightly/wrongly feel they look younger than their age. The ones that look older tend to shy away from this subject.

Men will lie about their age EG say they are older when younger and younger when older to get into womens beds.

Not a thing I either talk about, or enquire with others about. If directly asked, which I think is rude anyway, I answer truthfully.

Just seen your profile pic and can confirm that you look bloody good for 85

You could easily pass for 55

Same. I don't get why some (usually) women make such a big deal about not looking their age. Just pop the Jeremy Kyle show on if you want to feel good about your looks/hygiene/intelligence.

When people say they think I'm 16, I can proudly say "nah bruh, I'm 19, I'm old enough to be your mother"

I don't advertise my age to anyone in my real life. I'm open on here as no one actually knows me but, apart from a very small handful of my closest friends and family, no one knows my age. I've never even told anyone at work when my birthday is

In my case it was when my daughter started announcing it to everybody because she knew it and wanted the world to know she knew that number

Well, to be fair to her, I've always told people my age - nothing to hide, it's just a number. It was funny when I kept getting it wrong by a year though, and she kept correcting me very loudly!

ETA: I'm 53 (54 in a month) and it did feel good when several people, at different times recently, thought I was still in my 40's! I thought that, now that I don't dye my hair any more, I would no longer be thought of as younger than I am.

People often assume I'm Jr's grandmother to counter-balance those nice comments.

I am guessing that I started when I was about 4 or maybe 3 and three quarters. I was very proud of my age in thsoe early years.

Whenever I'm asked and I always answer honestly (i"m a woman btw). I never lie about my age as there's a chance of getting caught out. If someone doesn't believe me I'll show them my birth certificate, passport or college ID card (which has my full DOB on it)

I like revealing my age to people, most people are noticeably shocked as I do look a lot younger.

When you are old you tell everyone what your age is next birthday.

There's a middle period between 30 and 50 that are the shame years where we all just basically pretend we're younger and when someone asks how old we are, we always respond with "guess", followed by daggers if they don't horribly understate.

According to my final year junior school grandkids 69 is a pretty good number to start at.

Nicest thing that has happened on this forum over Christmas was when I found out a long time mate thought I was 15 years younger than I actually am.

Made my day.

When I say "I'm 37, you know?", people seem to respond along the lines of "Jesus! I thought you were about 50!"
