i don't hold high hopes for jan2017 cbb (& i have defended every one since S&L)
i am sure when they invested in the 2nd house extension they had the future uses in mind to pay for it.....
the summer's use was a failure though. however, the theme of a mix of new and returning stars does not bode well. the returning housemates will no doubt purely act up to their invented "image" - while the new housemates will act up to the image they are selling. in other words this is likely to be as structured and fake as the summer cbb one was... with the housemates playing the part they pretend to be (encouraged by their agent - and as so many housemates come from a small pool of agencies could easily be primed with a fake event between their supplied talent & not pre-planned by the producers to fake it) regardless of any encouragement the cbb producers give with the edit or the tasks... and that will make it very boring... the summer '16 cbb was the first since i got back into watching bb with the excellent secrets and lies I have not enjoyed watching... and this looks like it will end up as bad - and has been destined to be so when the original extension plans set the course for the next few series. the start night will set the scene... if they are all hamming it up by the 3rd show it would be a shame but not a shock. |

On summer cbb's launch nite, Bear came rollicking along roaring at everyone to put money on him winning. We should have paid attention.

Is that the gist of it?

only the start.
then it may well go the same way as the near zero of BB/CBB i watched from c4's bb7 to c5's early ones - that were simply awful by the first few days and the people mix & tasks showed the expected direction you can put people in a place, demographically selected to be likely to react to planned tasks that will release expected results... but actually putting in reality people who are acting a role is one step too far |

aye, I agree with the OP, they may as well release the scripts to save us having to watch it...
it's going to be false, forced and utterly dire. |

I don't even know why they try and pretend there's a theme,it's just the same old show every time. After last summer CBB it can't get any worse or can it? |

I'm usually cynical these days and don't expect much anyway but I agree. The rumoured old stars are just there to stir up the same drama they initially did, by and large. Notice they are tagging it as "old stars" not "all stars" because they know that who they've got back aren't the best!

and that is the problem..
you put in reality stars, who "act out a soap opera life" as if it's their real life.... and they go into the house and continue the "act" may as well just have a script. ( having people likely to react to a task is not quite the same as actually having them act a pretend style - however so many people can now make a good living "pretending 24/7" it is a genie that will never go back in the bottle) |

Just my humble opinion but bringing back old housemates seemes like CH 5 admitting the show has run out of steam. Heck, if I were the producer of the show I'd resent having to pay former CBB housemates another big fee to appear on the show! If you go with the regular format - all new CBB housemates - you only pay 'em once!
![]() Paying Jedward big fees to appear twice! Incredible. |

They should just have an allstar regular series instead of CBB as far as I am concerned they are more of a celebrity then the so called celebrities they do get many from reality shows I have never watched.
