Does anyone else think we need to see these two flee the Mitchell nest and get there own place? I actually thought it might happen after the Linzi business but now Jay is firmly back within the Mitchells it seems unlikely. These two characters work really well together and for me are two of the future stars of the show but to see them get away from Phil and Sharon and stand on there own two feet would be great to see. Stacey's old flat is available and would be perfect for both of them

Jay should crawl out of Phil's arse and not be such a doormat. All these months Phil's called Jay a nonce and now none of that seems to matter to Jay. He's just happy to have a roof over his head. He really needs to sort his life out and get a place of his own. Ben included. He should get far away from his Dad as possible. Phil doesn't deserve him or Jay in his life.

I agree.

Also, I still don't know how Louise can stay with Phil (I know he's her dad) either especially with the way he treated her mother which was appalling, does Lisa know where she is or not or doesn't she even care?

I don't think moving out is a bad thing either. They don't have to be on bad terms with Phil and the rest of the family but moving into their own place is a logical step for two young men. It's a stretch of the imagination in London, obviously, but then so is Lee and Whitney or anyone who leaves the family home but manages to stay in Walford.

I think Stacey's old flat would make a lot of sense. Could move a couple of new characters with them - maybe two females who are room sharing to save money?

Perhaps Phil could relent and give Ben the business which would then perhaps give the boys the funds (and Jay the opportunity to go back to a job he loves and can earn more from) they need to be self sufficient.

When Phil is well again, him and Sharon could then concentrate on renovating R&R.

That's a darn good question. If so, Jay (and Ben) could have moved in there to get the social off everyone's backs about him being under the same roof as Louise. Surely the Cokers would do him a deal on rent.

It's hard to understand the Mitchell family set up as Phil has treated them all appallingly but they all worship him like a benign Buddha?

And no way would Lisa let Louise stay with the old brute. What happened to her?

I often wonder that. I mean doesn't Lisa care about her daughter anymore? Why doesn't Louise ever mention her mum? It's just weird.

Yes, time for them to stand on their own two feet and stop worshipping at the altar of Phil.

Jay's character has been ruined and beyond redemption now. And any more screen time for Ben cannot be a good thing either. Dont think I can bear to see Harry's "constipated" acting any more.

Particularly the way Phil has treated Jay this year after the Linzi stuff and Jay's attitude towards him over the past few years. The scenes Ben and Jay have had together talking about Phil and generally saying how much they hate him.

For everyone saying SOC is very much character led storylines, the sudden change between Jay and Ben is plot driven at its worst.
Personally I don't feel Ben and Jay are as good as they used to be. I feel Jay has better chemistry with Louise now which is a little uncomfortable viewing given she is supposed to be a child. They really do seem like they love each other though.

Yes, none of it rings true.

They're going to give it another year or so I think and if both actors are still around (which is fairly possible in the case of Jamie Borthwick who has been on the show for over ten years, though the actress who plays Louise is another story as she is very young) I've got a feeling they'll get Jay and Louise together.

Because TPTB are still under the bizarre delusion that he is their God and that any and every character must be sacrificed to make him look good.

For example Ma Mitchell has been totally embarrassing with her pitiful whining that she is nothing without him.

Really Sharon?

The 'man' who has emotionally and physically abused you over the years?
The unpredictable and dangerous drunk?
The thug who has cheated, lied and broken your trust time and time again?
The bloke who has had a major role in the death of Denny's poor father?
The scumbag who sent a couple of thugs around to terrify you and cost you an organ which (very briefly) had caused you to suffer from PTSD and agoraphobia?

Wow!

He must love you so very much you dumb, blonde doormat.

Den, Dennis and Angie could power the national grid as they all spin in their graves.

Shame on you Sharon Mitchell and shame on TPTB.
