That's the ninth star wars film down the u-bend then.
They've already killed off Han-Solo.
Still got Luke, the newer human characters, the robots and Chewbacca. Maybe she can come back as a kind of phantom, like Luke hearing Obi-Wan during the battle to take out the Death Star.

1-3 were the result of poor decisions of accountants moon-lighting as script writers, as was 6 (Ewoks puhlease)
Hardly. The opposite in fact. 1-3 were the result of Lucas doing what he wanted and surrounding himself with yes people.

Jedi is a much loved film, it's usually just the Star Wars tourists who dismiss it. Nothing wrong the Ewoks, they may have been small and cuddly but they were also mean hunters and human eating psychos (though I won't deny Wookiees would have been even better)
7 was a repeat of 4 down to the killing of the most expensive actor
TFA was intentionally filled with familiar beats / story because it had the burden of trying to re-establish the entire brand of the franchise. It needed to feel like the OT, so it therefore uses the OT template. And that's just fine, because Star Wars has always been a remix of the familiar.

It's being reported that Debbie Reynolds has been rushed to hospital because of a possible stroke.

Bloody weird goings on. Zsa Zsa Gabor's adopted son has just died in a motoring accident as well.

Hope she's ok and that it's not a stroke, it's obviously a stressful time for her.

Yeah, just read that. Jesus, Death, no need to make this any worse than it already was.

Some nice tributes to Carrie here- I admit I've had a bit to drink, but some of these brought tears.

"Debbie Reynolds -- who rose to stardom in "Singin' in the Rain" and quickly became a staple among Hollywood royalty -- died Wednesday as a result of a stroke, TMZ has learned ... just one day after her daughter Carrie Fisher passed away ... this according to her son Todd".

Imagine poor Billie - she has lost both her mother and grandmother in just over one day.

She is by far my favourite character in 'Scream Queens' and until yesterday I never even knew she was Carrie's daughter.

Unbelievably sad. Two cinematic icons - mother and daughter - gone within a day of each other. This year has really, really taken the biscuit.

So agree. Was only talking to a friend when the news broke about Carrie Fisher on what a strain it would be for her mother at her age to face the death of her daughter. RIP to both of them..

That poor family. Two within barely twenty-four hours of each other. Even some of the most hardened 'celebrity curse 2016' cynics must be thinking that maybe there is something a bit unusual going on here. There's been one just about every day this last week, and with a 'celebrity' mother and daughter in quick succession now too. It's definitely not been a typical turn of events. RIP

I've just heard this now, how terrible for her family.

What a sad loss.

She was Carrie's mother, but we know what you mean

I always thought Debbie Reynolds was so natural on the screen in whatever she was in, a musical or straight. Her voice was terrific and she had such charisma.

So very sad.

ETA: Sorry Keyser, I mis-read your post completely, ignore the first part of my post!

No, i don't believe in superstitions. People die all of the time, some a day apart like in this case. It's horrible, but there is nothing supernatural going on.
