RIP to a warm, talented, witty woman. I'm not a Star Wars person but I loved her books;
.they were well written and she had a lovely dry sense of humour.

Just got out of the cinema after seeing Rogue One with the clever cameo of the young Carrie CGI-ed as Princess Leia - fittingly, she has the very last line of the movie. So, so sad, but after the news of her major heart attack a few days ago, the news isn't entirely (at least now) unexpected). RIP Carrie, 2016 takes another treasure for itself.

Also, that line that's repeated throughout Rogue One 'I am one with the force and the force is with me' could very much be applied to Carrie right now - she is now one with the force, and the force was most certainly with her.

Out of all the deaths this year, this one has saddened me the most. Probably because I'm such a huge Star Wars fan, but I'm also such a big fan of her.

RIP Carrie.

She seemed rather old and frail looking for 60.

This is awful news as she was such a lovely soul who had many issues but was open about them.

I feel for her family and poor old Gary who everybody loves.

RIP Carrie. Also thinking about her sister, Joely Fisher (Inspector Gadget and Ellen fame), her mum and family.
Bab, bad year!

Yes she did seem frail when she appeared on chat shows.

I really feel for her dog Gary. People don`t realise how much animals go through when they loose their companions. I can probably guess at this moment in time Gary is laying on a chair wondering where she is, but he knows something is wrong.

Gary is mental also. My mother says Gary is a hooligan. Gary is like my heart,” Fisher told The Herald Tribune in 2015. “Gary is very devoted to me and that calms me down. He’s anxious when he’s away from me.”

Hope Billie or close family look after him.

As a 6 year old I went to see Star Wars and that film was ahead of it's time. I used to run to Woolworths when I saved enough pocket money to buy all the figures and must have had about 6 Princess Leia's.

She was a huge part of my childhood.

Gutted!

Such a shame as she seemed to be on the road to recovery. Another sad loss.

I had a bad feeling about this...
Is now really the time for quoting Star wars?

On Reddit and places like that all it is is nothing but awkwardly done Star Wars references. I suppose on the one hand you could argue that it's in tribute to her biggest and most iconic role, but yes, there are times where it can seem a bit tacky and in poor taste.

Apparently she dosnt have a star on hollywoods wall of fame. It's amazing she was 19 when she made her first appearance in Star Wars. That would have made me 6. Such a sad loss.

It's heartbreaking when a dog is so bonded with an owner and the owner dies.

How can you explain it to a dog? They will always be looking for and waiting for their owner.

Very, very sad.
