When she does go, we should get a new national anthem as it would prove once and for all that the sky fairy didn't save her.

When the reaper does come knocking, I will feel for her family like any family that has lost a loved one, but that is as far as it goes, I will avoid everything royal related on the TV, thankfully I don't think that Netflix or Kodi will be affected by her passing, and even if they are affected, there is always the blue rays.

Well, breaking news on the main few channels.
Followed by a never ending loop of latest updates and then look back at her time as head of state.

Several days of official mourning, which to everyone else is meaningless on a practical level - u will still be going to work.

There maybe an official 1 day public holiday for the funeral, as when wills and Kate got hitched, although your workplace may have the legal power to defer this - make u take the 1 day holiday at a less busy time.

Prince Charles takes over as head of state, live on tv. This is unlikely to be a public holiday.

I thought she had died it was on twitter. Life will go on the same as ever a new royal takes over as the richest.

Britain isn't capable of change. Not progressive change anyway. Pretty talented at going backwards.

I just hope the country doesn't go fully mental like they did when Diana died. It's the fakeness and all the crap about "the nation is in mourning" and "she had great respect from the entire nation" and "the whole country needs to pay their respects" that I can't stand. It's the assumption we all have to somehow care and acknowledge the event.

When she dies, I'll do the same thing I do every day. Go to work, come home, eat, watch TV (unless it's all pointlessly cancelled-you can't force people to be sad) and then go to bed. I may even leave the country for a week or so to miss out the initial tidal wave of tears which will practically flow out of the media.”

This!

Queen dead special box set marathon sounds like a great idea.

I'm not a fan of MBB but still don't understand why they stopped it to announce Mandela's death when the news was on in 10 minutes. I could understand interrupting for 9/11 or other instances like that but can't the death of a 95 year old man who was already ill hang on for a few minutes?

You could argue that since there is rolling news, it isn't necessary to put news on other channels but people always argue with me when I say that I don't understand why it matters whether something is on BBC1 or BBC4 etc. While that is still an issue, major news will be reported on BBC1.

The media will literally masturbate itself into a coma whilst the vast majority of people carry on as normal.

The Diana debacle was one of the most embarrassing spectacles in this island's history.

That's true, I just thought it was a bit stupid to end a programme prematurely when the news is due to follow that programme.

Nicolas Witchell will finally feel important again on the BBC.

He will have a whole essay worth of quotes about how revolutionary she is/was.

I reckon she'll live to over 100 like her mum so another 10 years left in her at least.

Of course the curse of 2016 could strike one last blow before year end. 😳

I`ve heard she has been dead for days but they have kept it quiet.

Any possibility that is true?

A good example of how the meaning of "literally" has changed completely in recent years!

I should think that his actual coronation - if he choses to have one - would indeed be a public holiday.

Twitter told me the Queen's death was going to be announced at 8am and now I'll never believe anything again.
