I found the quote about the flags very odd! They are proud to fly their National Flag, and many households do, and most businesses to do, some of the flags are ginormous"!
In the UK we shy away from flying our National Flag, we might offend someone ! WHAT ? This is the UK, it IS our Flag. We even need 'permission' to fly the thing too !

What a lovely programme. And glad to hear Miriam had 2 lovely bowel movements before she went home.
Being in Japan seems to calm her down a bit. Rosemary was still as hyper as ever though. Bobby is such a nice man. He seems to be very tolerant and acceptant of everyone no matter who they are or their way of life. Which you wouldn't think when you look at him.

I'm still pondering on how bowel movements can be "lovely"

Loved both series of this so far and looking forward to the third, although will miss these people. Loved Wayne Sleep, he's an inspiration. He overcame a lot of adversity and prejudice/snobbery in his young life to make it as a principal in the Royal Ballet, and then has battled ill health in older age. Found his attitude to life very moving.

think poster "anyone" was being facetious unless that stupid woman MM said that on the programme?
Could not watch it after the USA programme. Not into listening about bowel movements/ toilet habits - not something which has been a subject of discussion / found humorous in our family. Anal retentive maybe ( a pun in there somewhere.) |

I agree tim, but I think he had to constantly prove himself in the highly pressurised and competitive environment of the Royal Ballet School because of his stature, even considering hormone therapy. In the end I think he just realised he had to work twice as hard to prove himself. I really admire him and loved the attitude to life he demonstrated in these programmes. Also thought Rosemary was a revelation, loved her enthusiasm to give everything a try.

What doctor would give someone 10 face lifts? Do they need qualifications or are they just not good.

Miriam really looks for offence everywhere she goes, the guy in the store 'didn't want to help her' she moaned. The poor chap probably didn't speak any English! If I had met them on their travels I would have felt embarrassed to be British because of the extremely rude Miriam. |

Beneath that rough, rude, crude exterior beats the heart of a right arsehole.

![]() I think Bobby said it best ... 'Rosemary is a like a dog that keeps barking - but you still love the dog anyway'

Maybe Miriam's sense of entitlement is what has has prevented her from playing at the National Theatre.
I don't think that the old 'better out than in' would go down well with the audience. |

I really like Rosemary. Her loudness wouldn't and doesn't bother me at all. She has so much energy - it has to come out somehow. She knows what she's like, and tries to be less boisterous, but she just can't help it.

I wonder why Jan Leeming didn't go on this trip? Maybe she really did give India a try; she loved it so much and felt nurtured there.
I used to look forward to seeing Miriam on Graham Norton, she was a laugh but I found her distasteful and coarse in these 2 programmes and I assume we were seeing the real person. Rather bitter with some chips on shoulder. When I first saw Rosemary I think it was on Lads to Ladettes or some title like that and I thought she was absolutely terrifying. As she appeared more on TV and talked more about herself, I grew to understand her deep insecurities and I really grew to love her. She's large and loud and appears bumbling but she's the one that clocks on fast and gets things done. I was wishing she'd just quieten herself down in Japan and absorb some of their calmness or even perhaps to have spent more time with Wayne. Perhaps she did. We only saw what we were allowed to see. Wayne was just his lovely self. Making the most of his spiritual experience. Bobby George I don't know what to say. Good for him for taking himself out of his cearly painful physical life and putting himself through this. I'd really love to see this series continue with all sorts of elderly celebs. |

![]() ![]() ![]() I did feel rather sorry for the chef in the Japanese kitchen though. I bet he was glad when the tornado departed. ![]() I bet he needed to lay down once Rosemary had blown through.

Enjoyed this, never saw the original series though. Never knew Bobby George had injured his back that bad.
