There's no guarantee Trump will be the Republican nominee in 4 years time, if his approval ratings are in the 20s and 30s, he'll likely face a primary challenge. Remember Trump won the Republican nomination with less than half of the vote, so its not like he's unanimously popular with Republican voters to begin with, and if he disappoints his wacky base, he might struggle to garner enough votes to get the nomination again for 2020.
Good point, and you do have to ask if his penchant for giving his rivals nicknames, would work a second time round, or would people not buy into his stichk again?

If Obama hadn't been banned from standing due to American law he would have wiped the floor with Trump. Lots of Americans hated Hillary Clinton. But this is getting away from Obama's low opinion of Corbyn.
I'm not so sure. Her defeat was comfortable, and I'm not sure that Obama is anywhere near as popular as he once was. I think American posters would need to inform me more on that matter. I think it could have been a lot closer than many may think.

We'll never know although Clinton got more votes than Trump and I think Obama was more popular than she was, even though he has been a mediocre president.

Getting more votes means nothing at all, it is a total irrelevant thing to bring up.

I think people were bored with him and wanted a change, hence Trump winning very easily, and by a big lead over Hillary, so I do think something similar would have happened had Obama been allowed to run for a third term.

It's not a simple numbers game though is it? It's about serving the entire country not the most densely packed bits - that's why they have an Electoral college

Imagine if we elected a president by a simple one man one vote system. England would get to pick every president as they dominate population wise. Wales, Scotland, N Ireland would have as much say in it as say Brexit.

Why head to Scotland when you can stay in Islington and be guaranteed a fresh croissant in your echo chamber?
