It is a bit.

How is the speed and coverage on the BT Whole Home Wi-Fi? How much range would you say you can get?

Haven't done specific test to let me give you a technically accurate answer, but it seems to work very well in what is quite a large house, and I am getting at least 150Mbps everywhere (I have a 200Mbps Virgin line). I have also ordered a Google Wifi set of 3 as well from the States. Before I install that I will do some serious testing and measurement of the BT one to see how they compare.

Brilliant, would be interested to see the comparison with the Google Wifi, which I hope will be coming here soon!

I think I'll order the BT system to try out anyway.

I've just had an email from Amazon saying it will arrive on Friday. Trouble is I'm not sure whether I'm ready to try it. It's a bit of a pain changing networks as I have various connected devices that need reconnecting as a result (door bell, hot tub, central heating, Sonos, Tivo, Apple TV, Smart TV etc. etc.). So I want to complete my BT testing before I install the Google stuff.

For 300 quid I’d expect it to make the tea as well.

I can see this falling in price over the year to say £200.

Got mine today and it's certainly better than the Orbi but I still don't find it hugely impressive even with the discs in so-called "great" places. Definitely doesn't cover all 3000 square feet of my home either.

On to the Linksys Velop then!

How many floors is that 3000 sq ft over ? I've got about 4500 but spread over 3 floors. Coverage seems pretty good. I've just done some tests. I have a 200Mbps connection but it's currently showing about 80-100 on a wired connection (busy period I guess). I'm getting 60-70 in most of the house on my phone, with no less than 30 in the furthest corners of the furthest rooms.
