It was nice, to say thank you, why does it have to be then?

At a guess that's a jolly feel tonight, and it will not be a jolly feel later thus week and inappropriate then.

Why are people making a huge deal out of it.
Agree.

Agree.
It gave the impression that it was the last episode of 2016.

No it didn't.

It's a thank you, you can do that anytime.

Who is making a huge deal out of it? Does asking a question constitute making a big deal?

Yes it did. It said "Eastenders was brought to you in 2016 by...."
This clearly gave the impression that it was the final episode of the year.

Agree.
Exactly what I think.

They wsnted to run the thank you to all cast and crew over a positive, feel good ending, not a dramatic duff, duff.

Last year they did it on NYD, Mick and Linda's wedding as that was happy, rTher than the angst ridden final episodes of 2015.

No, we have had 12 months, so anytime this week is fine, my work said thank you for 2016 pre Christmas!

The up coming episodes will not gave the same feel to them and will be inappropriate.

It's quite easy to look on a TV Guide.

I don't think anyone is making a big deal out of it. Some including myself were just surprised to see the full cast list a bit earlier than expected.

No one is making a huge deal, they are asking out of curiosity.

Some people, like I was after it aired, could be under the impression it is not on again until New Year's Day.

I was surprised too - only caught the ending. I guess they thought it fitted better there than at the end of the NYE episode which will likely be a major duff-duff. Plus it adds to the they will die 'clues' as it would seem out of place over their dead broken bodies. Another reason I think TPTB are trolling us about the double death NY

I liked it. They used the same song in the finale of Sex and the City series - You've got the love ❤

So angry with SOC that they're killing the sisters off - unforgivable.

I would still like to know who the producer has to report to when coming up with these crackpot ideas.

It's not a "crackpot" idea. It's a storyline of which the conclusion hasn't even aired yet.

And he would have planned out his ideas to the BBC when interviewed for the job, so they would have been aware of the sisters depatures.

In addition to that, the BBC have hired Oliver Kent to liase with the continuing drama bosses, and he will obviously be aware as well.
