In addition to that, the BBC have hired Oliver Kent to liase with the continuing drama bosses, and he will obviously be aware as well.”

The interview for the job would have unlikely included the level of detail as to who he would axe he would have had to in meetings post hiring present it. But doesnt mean it will be great. Lots of exits and storylines end up damp squuds and poor on screen but they would have had prior approval. The argument the bosses approved it does not equal great exit

I get your a big fan of them so think it is a huge mistake and many will agree with you but equally many feel that their time has well and truly passed and that Ronnie in particular ceased to be a viable character due to the Carl, Charlue and Fatboy plots and death is the right call for her ending as karma fir the lives she has taken and as her tragic heroine status.

SOC's boss may well see it that way.”

Ronnie and roxy have not been killed off for the shows vision. Their death will not change the show dramatically. Theyve been killed off as drama/ storyline opportunity. The soaps need big exits, media coverage and fan discussion. And the exits of bigger characters is always going to have greater impact. It is also demographics. So if you are going to exit characters; we have a lot of women in their forties i do think a longer storyline, breakdown or long term illness (ie. Ms) would have worked as a better exit for ronnie

In my eyes it is clear why Ronnie at least got written out of the show, her character no longer fits the DNA”

I don't think it was NYE. I'm sure Ronnie said earlier in the episode that she wanted to spend the last few days before the wedding feeling fresh, not hungover.
