EE - Lauren & Abi Branning
Hopefully now that Max is back we are going to see more of these two, both have been quiet on screen of late esp Lauren since she returned.
I think the two girls in tonights scenes with Max at Dots have had a role reversal. Abi used to be the quiet forgotten one and Lauren the gobby loud one and it was all about her. Was definitely the opposite tonight. Abi seemed to come into her own with Ben and as part of the mitchells. I don't think they are the new Ronnie and Roxy as they don't have that kind of relationship but I can see them being major players in. The forthcoming year. What are your thoughts on the girls, what do you want to see from them storyline wise? I would like Abi and Jay back together for starters |

Jay is too good for Abi...She's a moody brat who has to roll her eyes every single time she's on screen like a sulky teenager, and she's endlessly moaning and repeating the same old crap she did a year ago. I'd have hoped getting publicly shamed by Ben and being taken down a leg or two by Whitney would have wiped the smug bitter smile off her face, but alas it seems not to be the case. Jay on the hand has spent the last few few weeks looking after Denny and Louise as if her were their actual brother whilst Ben has been all over the place. Personally I prefer it if they kept Abi and Jay apart.

Haven't enjoyed Lauren since she got back and she was effectively the main player in the show from about 2013-15 her return has been strange and subdued including the strange dress sense.
Jacqueline jossa needs a new direction as the young star role has now probably now been given to Tilly keeper that Jacqueline got from Lacey turner. Tonight there were a few signs of the old Lauren and I forgot how well jossa works with jake wood. She is still matey with Whitney and the friendship with Stacey although now max is back i suspect the long history with Stacey and Lauren is touched on again Abi is a strange one as she doesn't seem to fit into any of the friendship group too old for the bex Louise one and not really a part of the 20 something crowd. You forgot how long Lorna Fitzgerald has been in the show from a tiny child to a young woman. Jacquline jossa used to tower over her in height but there isn't so much between them now |

I liked them together again! Think that this is the beginning of both of them, they needed their family unit back.
Also LOVED Dot tonight again! I mean i always loved her but i think this is where she excels and i think with Max back it will work well |

I want them to remain quiet. The pair of them aren't strong enough characters to get so much screen time. I know Lauren got a lot of screen time before she went on maternity leave but she was unbearable, i don't want that to happen again. Abi has always been a background type character. She got a lot of screen time under DTC but it didn't suit her at all. I don't think she is a good enough actress either.

I love both of them (Lauren especially), the Branning's are a great family, especially when there's more of them (as opposed to just Lauren, Abi and Jack, as well as Dot), so I'm hoping now Max (Another great character IMO) is back we'll be seeing more of them.

I just wish Cora had returned too.
Dot, Max, Abi, Lauren, Louie, Jack, Ricky, Amy (and Matthew?) and Cora (as well as possibly Tanya and Charlie 2 returns) would be a great set up in my opinion, giving the characters lots of chances to interact but without them dominating. It's a shame No 5 was converted, easily my favourite interior set of any of the houses on the Square

I actually agree with you about Cora Vas. Ann is a great actress and Cora was wasted, never really getting a story of her own.

I think Lorna Fitzgerald is a better Actress than Jac Jossa.
it will be interesting to see SOC's plans for the Brannings. |

There are rumours of a possible return in the Spring. Ann Mitchell's departure from EastEnders is all a bit strange, was she axed by DTC or SOC? I still believe she has a place on the show although many on here will disagree.
I'm not sure about her exit, I think it was a bit like Corrie's Emily! Hope she'll be back soon though, I've missed her in the year she's been away to be honest.

Jossa has put on a bit of weight since her baby, but still has a good figure. The EE directors dress her as if she's size 24 in frumpy baggy clothes which just make her look older.
I wouldn't mind seeing Jay and Abby back together. I'm a bit sick of Abby being portrayed as a bitter little desperate chav. She's good looking and is supposed to be academic - I remember all the fuss about her accepting uni places a few years ago. They could make so much more of her character. |

I think the writers need to decide what they are doing with Abi - is she sweet, nice and caring, or a horrible person who will lie in court against her dad?!

No I 100% agree with you, the older group is lacking and Cora was a great character when used right (I loved her during Tanya's cancer, even if it wasn't a great story).
