Are there any cheap and cheerful pubs that serve food near Middlesbrough train station?

I'm essentially looking for a Wetherspoons / Yates type of place (anywhere with quick service and reasonable quality and cheap) to eat as I have a 50 minute wait for my connecting train and want to eat if possible. Its the longest connection break I have on a 7 hour journey and would like to eat something filling if possible.

Basically I would like somewhere if possible no further than a street away to save as much time as possible.

I've tried searching but unfortunately some of the more helpful sites are blocked. I'm at my parent house for Christmas and they have a stupidly high level of parental control on their internet connection, even DS gets blocked at times!

I hope they're still there, but as you walk out of the station note the columns which look exactly like erect penises with testicles at the bottom

Just as a matter of interest which journey is 7 hours breaking at Middlesborough? I often travel on the East Coast line from London to Stirling which are around 6-7 hours and generally I see cross country connections at Doncaster, York, Darlington. My wife and her family come from Teeside and her sister has said usually the trans pennine express takes people to Manchester but that is around 3 hours. Terry reckons Last Orders is you best bet.

Thank you for the replies I will check them out

To be honest I'm not travelling 7 hours, but it's a long journey. I altered the time so I don't identify the town I live in.
