Gazza is an arse again, but so is the person who retaliated.
I foresee Court Cases |

Not more typical alcoholic behaviour?
He's an attention seeker. Always has been right back to his early playing days in football. Sorry, no sympathy. Seen too much of his wife beating, prima donna antics over the years, since the late 1980's. A tremendous talent, self misused and ultimately chucked down the toilet pan. |

There are many alcoholics in this country. Few manage to get into the trouble he does.

Few would be reported as headline news - that makes the difference. Most alcoholics lead disordered lives of some kind and if they were famous would attract the same kind of headlines Gazza does. I have some sympathy with the rest of your post though -being an alcoholic does not absolve him from blame. I am well aware that it is an illness but I do think that making excuses for alcoholics does no-one any favours - the alcoholic most of all.

Cant believe the guy is still alive .how much longer can this go on .weve been watching him self destruct for years.sad and pitiful to watch a once great talent flush his life down the bog.

As with most such cases like this, footballers especially, there is always this perception (usually encouraged by the tabloids slant on the reporting of it) that the sports person in question is the instigator.
All we have are a few tweets from a few people in the same bar. Hardly reliable evidence. Sadly, the reality in a lot of these cases is that boozed-up members of the public often see such people and think it will be a good laugh to wind them up or have a go at them. |

You've clearly never worked with alcoholics. Just because they're not reported in the papers like he is,their behaviours are not any different. In and out of hospitals, in and out of police stations, fights, arguments, emergency services called out non stop, injuries, illnesses, thefts, homelessness, you name it.

There are as many different alcoholics as there are people. I dont like the man but do have sympathy for anyone who gets caught in this cycle of self abuse. Had he not been famous he might very well have beaten it. Fame has been this man's own downfall same as G Best. |

You know this how? Not many non famous alcoholics would have their every word and action reported.

He beat up his wife and he was a mate of the murderer Raoul Moat, which ought to tell you all you need to know. link and link |

In his case I'm certain of it, as he's always been the same, and he's not always been an alcoholic. You don't need to be an alcoholic to be an attention seeking idiot, but in his case it presumably helps to make you look even more of a fool.

Gazza should stop being a celebrity and just live a regular life. He hasn't been a pro footballer for many years now.

I'm amazed he keeps finding the money tbh. It's really surprising just how much alcohol abuse the human body can take before it finally gives up isn't it?

Yes, that's true but the article does mention him throwing notes around. But you're right there will be no shortage of people to buy them for him. Tragic mess really.

Except he wasn't as your link proves.
This isn't newspaper reporting. It's actually him speaking live on air - link |
