It's a shame. Nicola and Jimmy are a very popular couple but they tide is turning on them now because of stupid, crap, lazy writing.

This is what really frustrates me about the show. They have two characters that are loved that can do drama and comedy, that have three children between them so plenty of scope for storylines; they've both been on the show for years, both have connections to other characters...

There's such a wide range of stories that they can be part of - for example, Nicola could've supported Laurel throughout Ashley's storyline a whole lot more. I'd rather see that than Nicola and Jimmy arguing, and there's plenty of opportunties for them to also have their own big storyline(s), too.

But what do they writers do? They bring in Kelly and split them up. Then they have Nicola get it on with Dan. That isn't enough, though - let's go one step further and get Nicola's sister involved in their relationship.

So much potential on this show going to waste for absolutely no reason.
Such lazy writing it's unbearable.

My family have been watching the soaps with me and my Dad was roaring with laughter at the way Nicola / Nico was talking / shouting at Jimmy. However if you've been watching for years it is wearing a bit thin. Maybe the writers should be brave and split them up for good.

That is the problem - I found the scenes in the hotel with Bernice/Jimmy/Nicola in the hotel quite funny and the subsequent scenes have had an element of humour in them that also hits the mark.

However, it's just tired now. They're tired. We all know that it's not going to last as it's happened so many times so what's the point.
An "is it really over this time" story can work if it isn't played upon every couple of weeks.

I think it's time to end them for good and, if I'm not mistaken, a Kelly return (which I believe has been hinted at) could bring that about.

I like Nicola and Jimmy, both as separate characters and together but the problem in their dynamic is definitely her. She needs to tone down the miserable wife act. They are wonderful to watch when they are getting along but its hard to watch when she's always treating Jimmy so badly and is so unappreciative. I know part of her character and appeal is that she is a bit bratty and spoiled, but its too much too often and its getting to a point where its hard to believe any husband would put up with it. But I dont want them to split up because single Nicola gets even more tiresome!

I liked it when Nicola was running the trucking company and Jimmy was the stay at home dad. They could have explored that a lot more as it's still a rare set-up (at least where I live) and it was so well suited to their temperaments.

Anything, though, to get them off the break up/reunite/fight in front of the kids merry-go-round they're on.
