I've just watched the CS episodes that I recorded and am wondering if I have missed an episode. When, where and how did Peter Barlow and Toyah start seeing each other? I didn't think he was working yet as a cabbie so was it Toyah who paid for the hotel.

We didn't see them meet, but apparently they met on the South coast a few months ago.

Peter put the room on his card, so perhaps he has some savings from all those times he's gone off on voyages for work.

Yes Toyah mentioned to Leanne that her mystery romance started a few months ago when she was visiting her friends down south 'And of all the bars in the world he could walk in to....' then Peter was outside on Xmas Eve having a fag and on the phone to a hotel booking a room for 'Mr Barlow and Miss Battersby' at this point they were still trying to make us believe he had a thing for Leanne.

I did miss the first Corrie episode where he and Toyah must've met up and gone to the hotel. I didn't see the bit where Bethany was saved either. I've more or less caught up though. It'll all be repeated at the weekend and I can catch up then. Corrie has definitely improved. I'd love to see Andy finally get rid of Phelan.

There was mention of Toyah having "relationship troubles" back in July, which was going to cause her to leave the street with Simon but she decided not to as she wanted to remain with Nick. Wonder if this was due to Toyah having an affair with Peter and her husband (despite there being no reference to her marriage beforehand) being unhappy.

I don't know if he still wants her (probably will when the writers need to recycle a story). But most of what happened was a diversion to make viewers think he wanted Leanne back and make Nick jealous. Even Leanne has softened towards Peter suddenly even though she mostly bad mouthed him when he was away.

The above post is quite confusing. Are you talking about Leanne or Toyah here as you mention leave with Simon and stay with Nick but you've only mentioned Toyah's name in that sentence

That's what they wanted you to think. They dropped enough hints to suggest it was Leanne.

So they met on the South Coast (I missed that bit) Of course the South Coast is such a tiny place they were bound to bump into each other.

It is really a small world in Corrie.

I mean, Kirk traveled across the world (I can't remember where) and met Julie Carp and brought her home. It then turned out that Julie was the daughter of Eileen's old school mate, and not only that it later turned out that Julie was her half-sister as Eileen's father slept with said friend.

Yeah I meant Leanne was going to leave with Simon to go and stay with Toyah due to her relationship troubles. I wonder if that had anything to do with what is going on at the moment. Until this point it has never been mentioned or even hinted that Toyah was married.

That is what I thought and also Leanne seemed to be getting on with Peter. She didn't seem to care about Nick's feelings only Peter's. Bizarre.

Yes I missed that bit too, but this is Corrie Street land

I had forgotten about all of that.

To be honest I only knew it was Toyah as I read about it on here. Otherwise I'd have been convinced it was Leanne he was after. As you say - it's all very bizarre.

Exactly. Peter can do no wrong all of a sudden. She had bad mouthed him every time he was mentioned up until when Peter actually came back

I hate the way they are writing Nick just now but who can blame the guy for thinking Leanne was getting close to Peter again and that he was trying to worm his way back in. After Carla and Robert it isn't a huge surprise Nick would have worries. Leanne doesn't seem to take his feeling on board though

You'd think Leanne would be a bit more sensitive to Nick's feelings - she knows he feels threatened by Peter. All those shared memories and jokes with Peter, and the way she keeps praising him are bound to upset Nick, but Lee doesn't seem to give a stuff In fact, I can't remember her being nice to Nick at all recently - all she does is moan and frown at him.

I wonder if Leanne will be jealous, or at least have het nose put out of joint, when she finds out Peter and Toyah are together.

I can't stand Nick. He's so grumpy most of the time, even when he's supposed to be happy there's underlying misery. I couldn't put up with him if I was Leanne.

Leanne can be a sour faced misery as well, so I guess they are well matched.

Nick's behaviour seems a bit crazy - could his brain injury be causing him problems again?

Yes, and don't forget David Platt went abroad and met a cage-dancer, brought her back to the street and she just so happened to be Becky's troublesome sister.
