He wasn't dead when it was filmed

If they were to mention it the obvious character would be Shirley. She could then work in a reference to how upset Heather would have been had she still been around.

No reference if they was to do one could be made as they on holiday as production is shut down for the Xmas period.

If Heather was still around they would have had to make a whole storyline about it, she was obsessed!

It was just an eerie coincidence.

Did they get Cheryl Fergison back to record that tape, or was it cobbled together from their archives?

He wasn't dead when it aired either.

It was incredibly eerie in hindsight though.

on the subject of breaking news - has there ever been added "breaking news" to an episode ? like 7/7 ? Diana death ? David Bowie ? I seem to remember that some of the stuff in connection with the olympics was added - but can't think of anything else

I'm sure there was a hastily added-in reference to do with the World Cup one year.

So how about the Monday episode following Diana’s death? I happened to book flight to London in mid August so arrived on the 5th Sept – day before the funeral – and arrived to a London like I’ve never seen it before – people walking round like zombies, not talking, crying, a lot with flowers taking them to Ken. or Buckingham Palace etc. - was the Monday episode – that would be 1st Sep – and some of the other episodes for that week cancelled ?

Kat and Alfie hired a big screen so that everyone could watch Will and Kate's wedding in the Vic on the day.

thanks - found it immy - 4.15 min from the episode - and I think I know why I didn¨t see it - at the time I watched EE on BBC Nordic - nearly 3 months behind so would have been shown here last half of June - when I was in London on holiday, and since as London theatres usually start at 7.30 pm - and I see a play nearly every night - I had to drop EE and for some of them catch up on youtube when I returned - but must have missed that one, or it wasn't uploaded at the time. Ended up sick and tired of watching 3-month old episodes so switched to watching them on youtube where they would usually be uploaded within 30 min. - also it was annoying, remember clearly, Heather being alive and well on BBC Nordic, and when I saw the fresh episodes on youtube - dead ..

Didn't Mick and one of his sons (either Johnny or Lee) have a scene earlier this year where they mentioned the Euro result the day or days after it happened when Iceland beat England? It could have been the same episode where they mentioned Brexit as it was a similar time of the year.
