What does everyone want see happen in Emmerdale next year then?

My list is-

To see Robron die, or leave I'm not really fussed.
To see Carly ditch Marlon and get with David, leading Tracy to leave forever.
To see Ross getting it on with both the White sisters, and annoying Lawrence on a daily basis.
I also would like to see Emma get an amazing exit from the show (as its pretty likely that she will be leaving). I'm thinking that she might kill herself...

I don't see how that's a spoiler, but yeah I agree. I want Debbie as far away from the wonderful Ross as possible. Let her suck the life out of some other poor sod.

I'm still hoping Jasmine will return even if they have to recast.

I don't know what else to hope for seeing as I haven't watched it this year without Debbie being in the show so I have no idea what's going on.

Jasmine was the only love interest she had chemistry with. Maybe Andy at a push.

To be fair, you're not missing a lot. Its all about Robron, Kerry is on yet another downward spiral. The Ashley storyline is heartbreaking, and the Bartons stiff has been quite good.

As for another actress playing Jasmine, I would hate that if I was a fan of the paring. It just wouldn't feel the same. It would be like Donna returning with a new head (even though she's dead) and getting back with Ross, it just wouldn't work.

Hmm. On the contrary I'd like to see Marlon and Carly get more serious! I love this pairing. I wasn't much of a Carly fan, but putting her with Marlon and April has really warmed her up in my opinion and they would make a cute little family unit.

I'd like to see Moira and Cain back together. Barring that, I wouldn't mind Moira and Pete becoming something more...if nothing else just for more one-liners from Ross making fun of him for getting it on with his aunt.

Also would like to see Zac and Lisa back together and have the Dingle's get a little more stability back as a family.

Agree with the aforementioned Debbie, if she has to return I want her to stay far away from Ross and Pete. Just get her away from the Bartons altogether. And let her come back being less of a miserable cow (since we're dreaming big here!)

I dont care what they do with Robron too much. I guess I'd rather see them get married just because Im still tired of seeing Aaron having something to be sad/mad about and at least if they're together he's more tolerable to watch. But I do hope they stop retcon-ing their characters history to make Robron work. So maybe more of a connection to Robert's Sudgen roots if anything.

I know this one won't happen, but I would be happy to see Paddy and Chas back together. I have kind of gotten over the idea of him and Rhona as a couple now.

Revisit Chas' PTSD storyline & then maybe a love interest
New characters for the village. Perhaps a young couple with no ties to the village with very young children?
An end to the 'Nico'/Jimmy crap Just split them up and leave it at that, no more of this 'will they won't they?' bollocks.
A big juicy storyline for Carly
An explosive exit for Emma
A whole year without a single stunt or an affair (Too much to ask? )

-Lachlan gets one year in prison
-Ronnie to leave the village as a 'comeuppance' for Lawrence
-Son and Daughter of Rebecca introduced

-Joanie leaves for Corrie
-Big stunt (Emma? Pierce?)
-Pierce becomes a serial killer and kills Rhona
-Emmerdale to stay as one of my favourite soaps
-Emma gets big exit (Stunt? Pierce?)
-Zak and Lisa stay apart

I would like to see Hannah Barton return. I thought it was stupid how she hasn't shown up despite her own sister dying and her uncle also dying, everything her poor mum has been through, there is no way a daughter wouldn't make it back home. Also absent at Christmas.
They should just get a new (and better) actress to play her if they can't get the original actress back. Make the Bartons a strong family again.

Keep Jimmy and Nico as a stable solid couple. Stop all this silly stuff with them breaking up, fighting etc, its so annoying. Those two and the 3 three kids could be a lovely family.

I'm interested to see where they take Rhona and Pierce stuff. But if they end up splitting up for whatever reason (not guessing anything, even though there are lots of thoughts about what could happen with those two) I don't want her to get back with Paddy, I think they need to bring in a new character for him.

I would also like to see Emmerdale focus less on big stunts (keep one big one in the Autumn and leave it at that) and keep focus on character driven storylines which they do really well.

I would also like to see more of the older characters, maybe even introducing one or two new ones. I think the Christmas episode highlighted how much they were lacking, when we used to get some great scenes with Edna, Pearl, Betty etc. They have some great older members of the cast, adding one or two more and building these up could be great like it used to be. I understand the show has to change and modernise, but it seems to have gone from one extreme to the other.

I agree with all of this. They need to stop splitting people up or having mates continually sleeping together...

My hopes?

Kerry is diagnosed with HIV and decides to move back to Newcastle.

No more feuds between Ross and Pete, especially when Debola returns. I like that they get along now, let's keep it that way.

Cain is run over by Kirin who returns to the village to re-take his driving test. Then the village gather together to set Cain's lifeless body on fire and celebrate. Yes, I know, I'm asking for too much...

Robert arrested and jailed for Katie's death. Aaron goes on the run to France after the police learn he helped cover it up.

Zak decides to castrate himself to the delight of Lisa and Joanie.

Dan is horrifed to discover he has 'moobs'

Nicola finally stops whinging and moaning and becomes content with life.

Lachlan joins a circus and leaves the village.

No thanks, that's where I'm from. I don't want her back.

Fine, let's send her to Siberia then. Far, far away from human civilization .

No stunts, murders, affairs etc - go back to decent character-driven storylines.
Aaron to leave. I like Robert, he can stay.
An end to Jimmy and Nicola's yo yo marriage.
Ronnie to have a bigger role. John McArdle is a brilliant actor and I'd like to see more of him.
Laurel to leave.
Lisa NOT to get back with Zak.
Kasim to remember seeing Emma on the bridge.
Cain and Moira to get back together and be happy - no dramas etc.
Chas to have a decent exit when Lucy Pargeter goes on maternity leave.

Two great points, I totally agree, especially with the 2nd one. The lack of older characters of those types is sad. They were always an important addition to the village that isn't being represented much, if at all, anymore.

Solid relationships.

By that, I mean no affairs, cheating, one night stands, drunken kisses... zilch, nada, nothing!

They need to start nurturing the (very few) relationships that are on the show. It's easy (or should be) to think of storylines that are dramatic for couples other than the typical affairs.

They should introduce a new rule - the first person behind the scenes that comes up with any type of affair plot is instantly sacked. I'd imagine a few of them would end up getting sacked due to lack of ideas if that were the case, though

I disagree.

We have Diane, Doug, Rodney, Lawrence, Eric, Zak, Lisa, Rishi and Joanie on the show. All but Rodney feature regularly. I think it's just going through a transitioning period - the older cast members got 'older' and are now on part time contracts / quit / died.

We've still got Sandy and Pearl holding on, too.

Aaron and Robert both spontaneously combust
Extend Bob's cupboard and put ALL the kids in it, and Carly, then lock and bar it
Any storyliner who dreams up such ridiculous stunts is banished to obscurity (Hollyoaks)
Paddy unleashes a mad bull and it tramples Pierce to mush (who'd notice a difference though?)
Apart from that just wind the clock back about 10 years
