Tablet advise?
Hi everyone
My wife has asked me to look for a tablet for her bday in Jan, but I ain't got much idea on what to look at. She will be mainly using it to watch films (prime), surfing internet and wants a camera as well plus 10" screen. I've got a budget of £150. What should I look for I've seen a couple like Asus, Acer and bush but unsure of how good they are. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks |

The Amazon Fire HD 10 is a good choice given the Prime use but for £150 or so the screen resolution won't be up there with the more expensive tablets. Cameras on tablets aren't great generally but will be OK for Skype and (daylight) photos for trivial use. It'll come with special offers from Amazon too.

I've got a Linx 1010 and it's great. It's full Windows 10 for only £130, including a keyboard accessory if and when you need it. I use mine as a tablet almost all the time. Windows 10 has a full tablet UI or you can use it in desktop UI. A great machine in so many ways, and with a SD card slot expanding the storage is cheap and easy. Downside the speakers ae not that powerful. They're fine at home but in a noisy environment you'll struggle to hear them, unless you get a wireless, USB or headphone socket speaker of course. Video playback is perfect. I have had four different HD videos playing in four different media players all on screen at the same time, all playing perfectly.
The newer model has better speakers but is a bit more. |
