It was never going to take long. With the french elections coming up in April, French MPs seem determined to play into the hands of Marine Le Penn.

North France turns into huge migrant camp as SIX 'mini Jungles' pop up after Calais closes.

"SIX new migrant camps have emerged near Calais following the destruction of the notorious “jungle” holding centre. The new sites are said to be scattered across countryside surrounding the French Channel port. Although they are much smaller than the “jungle”, reports say they are attracting dozens of newcomers each week."

It wouldn't surprise me if that were true, but I don't believe a word printed in the Express. Its not a real newspaper, its just the Sunday Sport without the tits. Any credible source for this story?

It wouldn't surprise me if it were true because they are not going to disappear into thin air.

I wondered how long it would take for this to happen.
As I understand it, the camp was cleared out by distributing the refugee's around various EU countries and the rest were sent to immigration processing centres in France.

But then what? Did those in Calais not already have the option to go down the official "processing" route in the first place, or claim asylum in other countries? Apparently they didn't want to, they wanted to come to Hotel UK and slip in illegally.

Camp or no camp, surely there will be others similarly motivated to slip across the channel, so presumably it's only a matter of time before history repeats itself?

This point was made made by the foreign minister of the Czech Republic i think when the EU decided to bring in migrant quotas back in the summer of 2015. No matter where you send these people they will end up going back to the place they wanted to go in the first place.

Germany and France must have been very naive if they think people would happy to end up in a pre-selected destination chosen by someone else
