Are you sure? They look obese and then some.

What annoys me is the timing of this news article, seems very cynical as they know that at this time of year most people have more unhealthy food and alcohol in the house, whilst the supermarkets are gearing up to push their low cal soups etc. I often wonder if they work together.
I'll take no notice anyway- I lost 23kgs last year, I'm eating what I want til it's all eaten up then I'll go back to the food that helped me lose weight last year and hopefully carry on losing.

Hmm - it wouldn't let me do the quiz but I am underweight at 40 kgs and in the past year I have had 2 head injuries, broken my finger which healed incorrectly so now I have to have surgery, developed early stage heart failure and postural hypotension

you can be unhealthy and not fat

Will you also ignore experts when it comes to the inevitable heart disease?

Oddly enough I reckon no, but you will expect the government to pay for your poor choices.

A lot of people are the way they are due to listening to so called experts, who will then change their minds and then once again blame their victims.

Since when do "government" pay? Think you will find the people pay.

Yep.

Partner dumped you? - eat ice cream, drown sorrows

Success? - meal with family/friends, and a toast to boot

Birthday? - CAKE

Christmas - We are actively encouraged to turn into lardarses at this time of year

Easter - nuff said

Valentines day - If you're single, a night spent mourning your loneliness with other lonely folk in a dark room watching sappy movies with junk food in tow

I could go on, but there is an occasion for junk food 24/7. No wonder other europeans laugh at us. We're the smelly, fat, socially akward kids of europe.

Medical Doctors = So Called Experts in your world?

Wow.

And as for payment, how many people do you think actually cover their medical costs due to taxes? Not that many, selfish people who think doctors are not experts expect others to pay for them.

Considering how much of what is passed of as "facts" by medical experts turns out to be incorrect or biased it is little wonder they aren't trusted.

For years people were told to cut down on butter and switch to "healthier" margerine because research conducted by medical experts came to that conclusion.

It was only years later the it was discovered research had actually been funded by the margerine industry to promote the switch to margerine. Vested self-interest.

The new government guidelines on recommended weekly alcohol consumption were derived in the same way. Not on facts, they were ignored, but the same vested self-interest.

Everybody contributes a little, that is how it works. In that respect it is little different to any insurance.

I have a relative who is a proper foodie. She's a fabulous cook but is at least three stone overweight, quite probably more, spends hours watching the food channels and appears to worship Merry Berry and all the ground she walks on. I can just imagine the assumptions that would be made by most people who don't know her on seeing her lounging in front of 'Bake-off' on the telly while enthusiastically scoffing a piece of her home-made cake.

What they wouldn't see is that she's also a keen marathon runner, has a personal trainer, goes to kick-boxing and yoga every week and is probably the fittest person in our entire family. I bet half those 'experts' can't even summon the energy for a session in the gym, never mind going straight home afterwards and knocking together a chocolate and raspberry gateau

Well I'm not middle aged yet, so I shall carry on drinking and eating irresponsibly until I go back to work. Then I shall be attacking the gym and eating lo-cal meals for the rest of Jan to shift the excess.

Of course it is, for some strange reason it's important to you what strangers on a forum think of you; otherwise you wouldn't have made that completely unsolicited point in the first place.
