I don't know anyone personally who thought the referendum vote was about expelling migrants.
But if the ds politics threads and guardian comments sections are an accurate representation of the general public, then there must be about 10 million remain voters who do think this and there not shy about telling any migrants that will listen either.

In reality only the very narrow minded or stupid would think us leaving the EU would mean anyone "not from this country" would be asked to leave...

There might be some around who hope/wish this would happen but probably a very small minority.

Certainly there are people who have distained for migrants though (until they go and get a take-away or something!)

Yup the normal speaking out regarding anti-racism is the cause of racism line. That's not at all telling about your attitude.
My attitude is one of utter frustration and that our country is being driven ever further to the right by those who are incapable of having an honest discussion without resorting to smear and innuendo to buff their own self-regard. Being "anti-racist" should be about healing division, not creating it because it is politically convenient.

I've been on this forum 7 years and made over 12,000 posts, feel free to highlight any racist posts that demonstrate your assertion exists anywhere outside to confines of your or the OP's head.

I did include a quote in the message you replied to. And you repeated the usual taking about racism makes it worse bollocks. When anyone says that I knew where they are coming from. It's a variety of the I'm not X, but...

What I don't want is dangerous fantasists like yourself being allowed to reduce the term "racism" to a handy bludgeon to silence or smear anyone who dares to hold different views, on EU membership for example.

The evidence for this tendency is clearly displayed on this thread for anyone with eyes to see.. People like you are the reason we are now suffering the consequences of a right wing backlash.

I thought they summed it up perfectly. So your "evidence" for implying I was racist or supported racism was a set of quote marks? No wonder you imagine racism everywhere.

You have shown yourself to be a complete fantasist and I have no more patience for you.
Honest discussion? You could be silenced for that

I see.

You class this edited quote as a racist comment. Righto.

Bye.

I'm past caring with this place TBH, have been thinking ditching my DS habit anyway. It's quite telling however that calling someone a fantasist based on a claim of psychic powers is considered a greater sin than calling someone a racist based on a pair of quote marks.

I class it as a classic indicator. Just as I view those who claim the nazism was caused by the "Jewish problem"

If someone is far right they are so because they have chosen to be a bigot. Nobody forces them to that position - much less those that counter such views.

So a snide insinuation with nothing concrete to back it up then? Typical.

Bigots and extremists do not solely inhabit the far right and racist views are not the only indicator (especially when defined by tribalists on the far left). It's far easier to point a finger than to look in a mirror.

If you don't understand how people can be pushed to the wings then don't understand the pendulum of politics or human nature.

If you want honest discussion and less division why do you insist on including emotive and pejorative epithets in your posts?

When in Rome.

I presume you don't see blanket accusations of racism against 17 million fellow citizens based on nothing more than psychic "feelings" and the fact that they voted B instead of A as "emotive" & "perjorative"?

You mean the one where I messed up the quotes then quoted instead of edited?
You'll find it one post down.

Ta ra.

Talking about racism doesn't make it worse.
But a scattergun approach of blanket accusations against millions of people, with no evidence whatsoever, leads to a cry wolf effect which makes real racism harder to deal with.

Trying to associate sensible posters like midnightfalcon with Nazis and the holocaust just makes you look like a fool.

I don't consider a poster who slags off others and does a double flounce as sensible.

To defend that seems foolish to me.

Looking from the outside in, the vote to leave seemed to come from fear. How well-informed or researched the causes of that fear were is open to debate. It's illogical - given the amount of times that 'control of our borders' and 'control of immigration' were cited - to say that the issue of immigration was a minor consideration for most.

There is a world of difference between having an issue about immigration and rounding people up and deporting them.
I voted to leave, my major concerns were more with the EU itself rather than immigration, but even I can see that the current migration situation is unsustainable.
I want us to have control over future immigration, I wouldn't want to see anybody that has already chosen to make their life here deported - I don't think I'm alone in my thinking.

He's clearly missed posts by posters where they have said they do know people like that! Its obvious to me that poster is in denial and that is his problem. He also seems to think that racism either doesn't exist or would have to be really really obvious before anyone can dare mention it.

He also missed the post or chose to ignore it where I stated that on the referendum day itself, I was yards away from 2 women sounding off about why they voted to leave and one of them saying "yeah and what about all the pakistani's here too"! Fantasist my eye!

A friend's wife honestly thought the referendum was going to give billions to the NHS and she's no longer have to wait at the doctors because all the sick foreigners would be gone. (I guess she thought all the foreign doctors and nurses would stay). Unsurprisingly she's been remarkably quiet about the whole thing since it became clear that none of that was happening. I honestly think she thought a load of prison busses would be driving around on the morning of the vote, lassoing foreigners and driving them to the nearest airport.

No I don't know any nor heard anybody say it and as for Ken Clark, even if he did say it then I wouldn't believe him as it's just hearsay much like the 2 women you heard 'sounding off' claim Styker.

I knew no one was getting kicked out, and i didnt want them kicked out. I just wanted stronger controls on getting in, like australia where you have to prove you have a trade they need, or can support yourelf. I wanted immigration control handed bk to us (and pray in the words of Bridgit jones we "do not fookit up!"
