Couldn't see a thread about this..

It was excellent I thought. Didn't try to mess about with it.. just the same show as in the 80s.
Really enjoyed it (and I got some of the answers right !)

Yes, it needs a full series. The originals were great, and as far as I can remember it hasn't changed a bit. Brilliant.

This show needs to come back immediately.
The 80's are right on trend at the moment.

The show was almost half over before the questions even started- but it was good fun and I wouldn't mind a series as long as it stayed in the 80's and didn't start inviting people like the appalling Olly Murs or reality show nonentities.

Good to see two of my 80's heroes, Tom Bailey and Andy McCluskey, looking so well.

Didn't know about this. I've set the planner for the repeat on Saturday.

Loved this in the 80s. Great that Mike Read is reprising it.

Really enjoyed this last night - brought back lots of good memories (yep, remember it when it started, and was an avid watcher!) and got quite a few questions right - wouldn't stand a chance with today's 'popular music'!

I, too, would also love to see a proper series continuing the 80s focus so I can embarrass my children a bit more playing along! Also great to see some of the musical stars of my childhood really entering into the spirit of it, and of course it wouldn't be the same without Mike Read!

Looking forward to the second special very much!

Me neither and I barely remember it. I hadn't noticed it in the listings, is it on BBC4?

Mike Reid was looking pretty good considering he died nearly 10 years ago.

I did enjoy Mike Read's Pop Quiz though. I was surprised how poor they all did. Maybe I just spend too much time listening to 1980s music.

It would also be great if they repeated a few original ones too like they do with TOTP.

There are a few on YouTube. Had some big names on at the time.

It was excellent, I did very well & answered practically all the questions correctly - 1980s pop music is my specialist subject.

The 80s was the best decade for music in my opinion.

Even better than the 60s.

I really enjoyed it. I liked how the contestants took it all in the right spirit. Probably helped that I've always liked the Thompson Twins and OMD.

Next week's contestants are:-

Nick Heyward
Carol Decker
Cheryl Baker
Jay Aston
David Grant
Ranking Roger

Would have been good to have seen Billy Idol on the show, though!

Now? She was always a bit odd. It's her quirky charm.

I really enjoyed that. And nice to see, unlike with Blankety Blank, they kept the original sound FX.

Just caught up with this on iplayer.

Absolutely loved it..... as others have said, let's hope the Beeb give it a new series.

Has Toyah had dental work? It looked very odd.
