Flying to South Africa tomorrow morning with husband, sons and another couple.

Going out for a meal and some dancing afterwards on New Years Eve in Johannesburg

Well I usually stop up to see it in, but to be honest, it's much like any other day really.

Bloody fireworks going off until 2 in the morning piss me off - just as I'm dropping off, "BANG" "BANG". Some of them sound as though they're just outside my front door.

i was going to pop out for a few pints, but i am now working on new years day, schedule mix up, not impressed. i will no doubt still go out for a couple of pints, just go home a bit earlier. Still at least I have the rest of the week off, certainly need it

Out playing Northern Soul and Motown at a venue fairly locally...first NYE DJ'ing for a few years, spent the last few enjoying the novelty of being in bed by midnight but a chance to be out with mates and my favourite music instead of playing "Come on Eileen" up to midnight sounds like fun...

Working on NYE until 4pm then on NYD at 8am. Was never mad on it anyway, seems very forced.

Doing the same as we have for the last few years, visiting friends' house for a party.

The whole New Year thing has never bothered me, but it is always nice to spend an evening with friends and have a chat and a catch up.

I'm going to a gay club in London to see my favourite band of all time (STEPS) get back together and perform at midnight! Am super excited!!! :O (Even if I'm usually not the clubbing type!)

I hate new years Eve and usually hide until my housemates have all gone out and then watch a film.

But this year I'm going away to the coast for 5 days, leaving tomorrow morning. I'll be on my own with no plans, no idea where I'll be going and very little budget.
I already know the town and did a bit of searching for events but I'm just going to start in one pub and see where things go.
To be honest if I found a quiet 'old man pub' with a fire I'd stay there all night reading my book until 11.55 where I'll get to the sea front and watch the fireworks.

I'll spend the early part of the day attending a dress rehearsal by the local drama group I'm involved with, and the later part making lasagne for a NYE's family dinner . May or may not stay up until midnight, depending on how tired I feel. I'm having friends over for dinner on 30th and will have to be up fairly early for the dress rehearsal. so could very easily be in bed by ten o'clock. I'm not a huge NYE fan.

Tell 2016 to piss off at midnight and then read some more of my H.P. Lovecraft anthology, or perhaps make a start on Barker's 'The Scarlet Gospels.'

Our son is staying at his grandmas so we're going to a party round at a mates house. There'll be good food and drink and good company and then after midnight a few of us will probably get a taxi back into town and probably go to a few bars. Last year we did similar and after a couple of bars we ended up going to another mates house until about 6am!

I love new year, good times with great people and everyone is always in good spirits and up for a good night.

Put my feet up and hope that my teenage son isn't getting up to the things I did when I was his age. Actually that's pretty much every night

The same as yesterday evening, the evening before that, the evening before that and well the same as every evening.

New years eve is crap... or maybe I can't be bothered with it now haha

But as someone said it often seems very forced!.. I can only think of a few occasions in my life when a night out or party on new years eve turned out to be a decent one!!

I may just pop on here see whats up!

I think a lot of the problem with going out on new years eve some have is the "once a year w******" who infest pubs and get on everybody's nerves. The type who don't know what they want and when they do get served stand around in groups blocking the bar and walk ways.
I was out last night for a weekly Wednesday night event and it was full of people trying to be 'funny' and ruin our night.

The same as every year, although normally I spend it alone and this time my husband is here. I will crack open a bottle of champagne, eat cheese and biscuits, watch the fireworks at midnight, have a dance with the dogs ..... then go to bed.

I'll be at home, MrKat will be at work, so probably a night of watching DVDs/downloading something from Sky, a bottle of white wine and possibly a curry.

MrKat will try to get home for midnight, if not we will try and text each other at midnight.

I'll raise a glass as I always do, watch the fireworks as usual and cry as the clock goes to midnight, then say bloody January again!!

Currently, buying a bottle of Asti, curling up on the sofa with Husband and watch some films or some of the Xmas shows we've yet to watch.. At 11:01pm his family in Germany will phone to wish him a Happy New Year.. From our front-window We can see the Fireworks over Central London so will stay up to watch them and go to bed just after that

New Years Eve is just any other day to me.
I find nothing to celebrate in the fact that another year of my life has passed!
