Why oh why did they let Kerry swindle the Sharma's out of compo she should have been exposed for the fraud she is rather than be rewarded for it, everyone knows she is faking her injuries and that any accident was her fault as she was breaking into the factory and caused criminal damage the whole storyline was a joke.

We viewers know she's faking her injuries etc but if it had gone to court the people who make the decisions there wouldn't know. Also a court case would have looked bad for the Sharmas, they'd probably have lost loads of orders and might have had to shut down even if Kerry had lost. Mud sticks even if it's the wrong sort of mud.
But the fact the viewers know she is faking yet still the scriptwriters went ahead and allowed it is the annoying part, I hope some consequences are shown otherwise it looks as though ED are condoning fraudulent compo claims.

I don't think it does as unfortunately these sorts of things happen in real life. I work for a law firm and have seen similar things.

Ah so you are somewhat bias as you have probably benefitted by someone successfully making a fraudulent claim.
I slipped on a freshly washed floor that was not signed, broke my wrist, dislocated my shoulder and broke my finger. My employer didn't need a court order to get a medical opinion, and I despite my shoulder has never been the same since got £3000 so why would someone breaking in get a huge payout ? This is up there for idiocy with the blind cleaner storylines. Sometimes my favourite soap wanders off the cliff of daftness. This is one of those times. Btw never met with my employer like she did either it's all done through solicitors.

Fraudulent claims happen pretty regularly, but this whole story line hasn't had even a whiff of credibility about it. It's been awful from start to finish. It's hard to believe that the same people writing the Ashley dementia story line are the same people writing this tripe.

Agreed. ED have made it look far too easy and I have no doubt a number of viewers are rubbing their hands with glee as they hatch similar plans.
I know the Law can be an ass and often is, but the idea that anyone would believe she injured herself through Sharma negligence while trying to 'rescue an owl' is just ludicrous when the court would obviously be told she was simply out for revenge after being dismissed for gross misconduct.

What really got me was that Rishi smiled at her in the pub as she was gloating over her payout... like, what the hell?!
I know things are about to get worse in the Kerry department in the coming weeks but I fear they have gone too far now and no matter what they do, the character is ruined beyond repair.
I totally and utterly agree with all the comments here about this ridiculous and far fetched storyline. If the case had gone to court it would have been immediately thrown out as Kerry would have to have medical evidence supported by reports and photos her to support the case. What Andybear says is wrong - the court would know the background as you cant just turn up in court with no medical evidence. Word of mouth is not enough! I work as a legal secretary doing personal injury so know what I am talking about. Pierce and Rakesh are two useless solicitors! They should know the law regarding personal injury and if they didn't then Kerry's and the Sharmas case would have been passed to a solicitor expert in the field of personal injury! I love Emmerdale but this storyline of fraudulent compo is annoying me very much like many of the others on here! Me and my co worker who watch Emmerdale are stunned by this ridiculous storyline! People here are right, the scriptwriters are insulting the viewers intelligence!
