Harriet Scott on Magic
What is Magics obsession with Harriet Scott? She seems to cover for everyone on the station and as far as I'm concerned she one of the most irritating presenters around, where did they find her?

At least she's better than Emma B. I heard some of her the other day stumbling through an exteremely long and pointless talking bit between the music. I thought magic was more music less talk. There is too much chat now

The general way what was known as radio in this country is going there is not enough chat. It's all three songs in a row, a short link, then another three songs in a row, then some adverts. There is no peronality on some so called radio stations these days (heart and smooth take note) |

No music lovers do not want a presenter chatting a load of bollocks when they could be playing another track. If people want chat they head over to speach radio. These presenters like Emma B chat absolute mundane nonsese in every link.

Harriet does a fine job to me, yes she is being well used but then she only normally works the weekend breakfast show on Magic, so is an idea person to cover for the presenters on during the week, I am surprised though that Richard Allinson is not doing breakfast this week. Remembering how excited his fanbase got when he did cover stints on Radio 2.

Harriet was Heart London Co host for a number of years. Magic is getting more female based.

What they are not music lovers because they don't have the same taste in music as you?
Everyone has different taste. What you might like others don't. That is not what I said. Try again. |

Bauer semed to have changed this at Magic with the latest presenters so to target the 30plus female target group the ad agencies like. Although sometimes it is said they prefer male pressenters? |

Harriet Scott and Emma B are fine by me. I listen to Magic because I like their selection of music combined with some chat. There are dozens of music stations on DAB and a fair number on FM. If I didn't like what I get from Magic I would go elsewhere. Suggest you do likewise.

I think Richard nearly worked every Christmas during his Radio 2 stint. I'm sure he deserves a well earn break after all those years.

HS sounds bored and I've never known what the attraction was even back in her Virgin days

I want chat and music, Gary Vincent does a great job of mixing the two and you hear great output. Three tracks in a row is lazy radio, the presenter goes out of the studio and chats in the office and the PC playout does the job. |
