iphone and icloud
Would I be at any security risk etc if I purchase a used iphone that had been used with icloud by its former owner.
Are there any steps I should follow to protect myself. |

Not at all mate, it doesn't matter whether the phone has been used with 10 different iCloud accounts, as long as whoever your buying it from remembers to erase all car contents and settings, if they don't it would potentially leave the phone logged into their iCloud account and tou wouldn't be able to sign out and into your account without them putting their password in first. So make sure they have at least signed out of their Apple ID/iCloud. Then your good to go.

Make sure that the former owner has removed the phone from his/her Apple accounts/ID including icloud. Then either get them to do a full reset on the phone or do one yourself when you get it.
http://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/iph...-ipad-3596892/ This will effectively return the iPhone back to "out of the box" condition so should do the job. |
