Which conspiracy theory annoys you the most?

I think chem trails are up there for me. The government has been spraying us with chemicals for the last sixty years but now one can quite decide why- either mind control or to give us cancer. Somehow the government and all their loved ones aren't affected by this chemical and also they manage to persuade each new government to carry on with this dastardly plan of mind control/giving us all cancer.

People who claim every single terror attack that takes place is a false flag are also annoying. I remember asking someone, who was insisting the plane that flew into the Pentagon was a military jet, what happened to missing American Airlines and all its passengers. They replied it wasn't important.

All of them, because they're all stupid.

Although the Sandy Hook one does tend to tick me off probably more than most.

I have a friend who, as soon as anything major happens anywhere in the world, leaps in with "it's probably a false flag". I'm always like "mate, surely even as a conspiracy theory obsessive you're supposed to wait until there's something tenuous that you can claim 'doesn't add up'..."

"Cultural Marxism"

"Illuminati" / "Bilderberg" / "New World Order"

Reptilian lizards

The moon landings were faked

Anything related to the idea that an increase in number of people diagnosed with autism, and/or of out transgender people, is because of someone deliberately putting hormones in food or water supplies.

Flat earth theorists. Just plain bonkers.
One guy on my FB swears its all a conspiracy, and that 'science is the new religion'.
He even travels to seminars about this stuff.

For balance, I'm going to nominate an annoying example of pronoia i.e. faith in divine providence.

Definitely Sandy Hook.

The very idea that a school massacre could be orchestrated is completely preposterous. I mean, that school and the people of the town existed long before the shooting, yet they act like it appeared overnight with a load of actors.

My MiL believes this. It's very odd, because in almost* all other respects she is an utterly sensible, rational woman.

*she voted Brexit, which we thought was a bit of an aberration, but now regrets it and hopes for a 2nd referendum.

Any anti-vaccination CT is a particularly hated one of mine. That shit's actually dangerous. Welcome back, all the diseases we thought we'd eradicated!!! Well done, "independent thinkers". Congratulations. I hope you're very pleased with yourselves.

That's about as likely as NASA admitting they faked the moon landings.

The one that really annoys me is that "the Jews or the CIA or both were responsible for 9/11" and that "MI5 / Jews were responsible for 7/7". Another one is the "Jews ruling the world or taking over the world into a Jew World Order". Also some morons and this is really ridiculous believe that Israel are behind ISIS! They really believe that "ISIS are really Jews trying to turn the world against muslims". Plus some idiots believe the recent atrocity in Germany was a "black op" or "false flag" done to "make muslims look bad". It's ridiculous.

If there is only 1% truth behind them it is important to not dismiss this along with the fiction.

I don't think any of them are silly and I say that as someone who does not follow them. Questioning is important, and to believe the party line is shallow minded. The people who lived around Chernobyl were told nothing was wrong by the authorities and just carried on walking out in summer clothing and the wedding video marred by white flashes of high dose radiation is chilling to watch.

To add, some people think "flouride is put in our water to control our minds". It's so silly.

Really? The moon landings were faked? Sandy Hook was faked? The world is run by lizard people? These don't seem at all silly to you?

Global warming. The idea that thousands of scientists and politicians around the world are conspiring in a false theory, apparently just so that governments have an excuse to raise taxes.

There's a rather big difference between questioning what we're told and making up utterly ludicrous, impractical and downright crazy alternatives that have no basis in evidence or practicality.

I wouldn't really class that as a "conspiracy theory" unless and until it gets to to the stage of arguing that the information was withheld purposely with the intention of subjecting the local population to excessive levels or contamination or external radiation; or that the explosion was deliberately engineered*. And even though my own personal opinion is that neither of those hypotheses is true, I wouldn't consider them "silly" until they evolve to include vast sprawling conspiracies installing exotic technology throughout the Chernobyl site, or some other bizarre setup.

It's pretty much the default position of those in authority that, whenever anything goes wrong, they frantically over their own backsides.

Not even that "the Queen is a lizard" or any other weird and wonderful similar things about "lizard people ruling the world" or that "Jews are lizards in disguise"?

None of them annoy me because i realise that a lot of these individuals are mentally ill and actually believe what they are saying.
I cannot get angry with people with a mental illness. I used to hate David icke then realised he is indeed a very sick man

( Yay first post done and dusted!!)

My fave never changes, it's always been ''the fake rapture'' A highly bizarre fundamentalist christian fantasy, where the illuminati use laser beams, to project a giant image of jesus into the sky, a fake "2nd comming'' to fool believers ........

Definitely flat earth theory. My question is always WHY. What benefit does it serve them, whoever they may be, to keep us in the dark about such an innocuous thing?

I was talking to a man who thought Sandyhook was a false flag "because he'd never heard of it before"
I tried using logic on him and asked if he'd heard of a few places I've been to in Brighton, the answer was no so I asked if it meant they didn't exist either. His conspiracy logic couldn't find an answer.

I also love, sorry hate the 9/11 wackadoodles who come up with ever increasingly outrageous ideas about how it was faked. They have a small group of CIA, Mossad, FBI, builders rigging the building with explosives over a weekend. Using controlled demolition techniques that usually take many weeks of preparation and knocking out a hell of a lot of the building.
