It was very difficult for Brooker to fit 2016 into an hour, he did a good job of it though! It was fairly depressing viewing which summed up the year relativly well. Although i didnt like the naked attraction appearing in the show. But then again no Doug Stanhope was a blessing for me. I wish he would bring back S**tverts, that was always very entertaining.

I was disappointed. Not as funny as last year. For the year it's been, I expected more. Towards the end it felt very repetitive in the stuff he was saying.
I'm a massive fan of Charlie Brooker but this wasn't his best. |

I'm a massive fan of Charlie Brooker but this wasn't his best. Hopefully we will get another series of Weekly Wipe. Last year he couldnt because of Black Mirror writing but hopefully he can fit another one in. Or even a return to Screenwipe or Gameswipe would be good. |

Always look forward to this, and once again superb. Brooker brilliant as usual, taking the pee out of absolutely everyone and everything. It's just a shame about those two morons constantly showing up every few minutes yet again, with their stupid put-on voices, and stupid put-on faces, trying so hard to be soooo hilariously funny. I can't imagine why anyone would want to watch either of them doing anything (other than being punched).

I enjoyed it. It was always going to be difficult to find a whole load of funny things to say about the year, given that satire is now seemingly dead.
![]() The ending was very Black Mirror-esque. |

I thought it was hilarious, although I do find he has mellowed out a tad over the years. I blame Konnie Huq!
![]() The best part for me was when he was talking about the financial power of online platforms such as Amazon, with it then cutting to him blending up money, a very sly dig at himself

Their parts are scripted by Charlie Brooker.

Bring back Victor Lewis-Smith. Now he really knew how to be rude about programmes.

That was brilliant by miles the best TV show over Christmas and the most enjoyable nights viewing on BBC2 last night Robotwars, Charlie Brooker, Cunk on Christmas and then Kevin Bridges.

I slightly agree with pete137 in that Charlie Brooker has mellowed over the years. No longer as brutal and impartial as he was 10 years ago. Because he focuses more on politics, he shows his opinions and beliefs more, therefore losing a good chunk of audience. He's also steered very far from Television, which is where he first started, and was at his absolute best.

I agree. I much prefer him commenting on television than on politics.
. Unfortunately many current comedians are letting their own politics affect their comedy and it's, in my opinion, worse for it. Ian Hislop on Have I Got News For You comes across as very grumpy about the referendum result and on this years Wipe I got a similar vibe. It's a very tricky balancing act as half the voters would see the referendum result as a good part of the year, not bad (said as a remain voter). To be fair to Charlie he stated his opinion on it and tried to balance both sides. He also rightly pointed out how polarising the referendum had been. I'm just not sure he succeeded in the balancing act. But at least he tried. Still not a fan of Cunk. What's really bizarre is that I do like the Barry character and his dialogue is probably written by the same person as for Cunk. Perhaps it's the delivery I'm not enjoying rather than the comedy. |

Too much has happened in 2016 for one hour to do it justice. I think that should have stretched it to 90 minutes & not bothered with the Cunk on Christmas, although I thought was was funny too. |

I thought it was excellent.
I wish I could wipe from my brain the memory of those girls singing the Trump song though. That's got to be the most cringe-worthy thing I've ever seen in my life. |

I'm dissapointed he didn't feature Leicester City at all in this. I'm aware Brooker hates football, so maybe it was easier for him to cut. That being said, I found the ending with Fake BBC News pretty funny. Maybe a show idea in there somewhere. |
