Thought this was brilliant and a step up from the one on Shakespeare.

According to Wikipedia, it peaked at number 4. Was that your point?
Famously so.

I like her a lot. I'd like to see Philomena and Karl Pilkington bounce ideas off one another about life, philosophy, and religion. And chimps of course.

Truth be told I thought it was disappointing ........maybe raised a smile here and there but no real laughs

nowhere near as funny as the Shakespeare one
agreed

by comparison with Shaky, this was just dull

Watched five minutes then deleted it. The jokes are so predictable I could have written it myself.

This did rather drag on. There were some amusing bits, but not enough to fill the programme. I found myself fast-forwarding through the dull bits.

Five.

The one who gave a gift voucher just never gets a mention, and two turned up with Myrrh. Fortunately they kept the receipt

Well, Philomena suggested that there could've been, say, 15 Three Wise Men and the interviewee agreed, so that'll be, um.....

It's odd - I love Cunk but I find Pilkington to be as funny as a hole in the head. I've never laughed at anything I've seen him say or do. Yet I could watch Cunk all day.

I believe the bible doesn't say, the three is assumed based on the three different gifts mentioned - hence my earlier post (okay maybe not the receipts bit)

Cunk is not only funny, but brings to light such interesting questions. I think there might be a searing intellect hidden behind those big, seemingly confused, blue eyes. Or maybe not.

I really liked the bit where the kid is confident that Batman is actually fictional, but that Bruce Wayne is real.

The interviewee was the very lovely historian Kate Williams and I would agree with everything she said. If I'd had a history teacher like her I would have paid more attention to the subject.

It's a little disturbing to be honest, made me wonder for a moment how many other daft questions she'd asked actually had deeper background and went right past me

There's an Egyptologist (Dr Joann Fletcher) who presents for the BBC who talks just like her.

I watched it on back up and the line Simon Cowell avoids Jesus in his songs or he bursts into flames was a cracker and had me laughing again.

Cunk is my favourite part of screenwipe, a bit surprised though that Diane Morgan doesn't contribute to the script.

That mole on her neck is rather distracting though.

Did anyone else notice Philomena talking about angels flying through the air just as the scene from Die Hard where Alan Rickman falls (or flies) from the window was showing? I thought it was very poignant. In a dreadful year for deaths, his, for me, was one of the most affecting
