And her mother was a hamster and her father smells of elderberries!

Desperately silly thread.

I never believed she was evil or hated democracy, but now you've told me she's a friend of Merkel I'm totally convinced, as I'm sure we all are.

It is childish to start a thread just to say nasty things about someone whom you have never met and do not know.

From what I gather you're in good company.

Like Gina Miler I value the fact the UK has a politically independent judiciary. Would you prefer the judiciary to be subservient to the whims of the government of the day or the government of the day to have to act within UK law with parliament able to change the law.

She may despise democracy and be Juncker's Trump card - but she certainly dresses well. Always try and find the positive in people is my advice. She is also fabulously wealthy and after her recent interventions she is set to make millions more on a book deal and after dinner speaking.

I think you better read the court case, as you have no idea about any of it. Your lack of understanding what its about shows with the headline of the thread.

There are times (becoming more and more frequent on here) when you read a post by someone and you realise that you honestly and truly wonder why you ever read or responded to something they've contributed under the guise of pretending to be a mature/sensible person who has a valid point of view - whether you agreed or not.

My list grows by the day.

This is one of the dumbest threads I've seen on DS Politics, and that's coming from someone who remembers Burti.

Well, I like her. She demonstrated on a recent Andrew Marr show that she is not intimidated by the pompous one..

Wow what a scintillating thread starter.

Its insightful brilliance dazzles those of us with a duller intellect.

I agree, but she doesn't hate democracy.
As a Blair-style "insurgent" she's simply the face of a campaign using a facet of democracy, and the support of similarly huffy elites, in a bid to slow the process by tangling it on enough barbed wire while they scurry around seeking The Ultimate Solution.
We might not like it, but she has that right.
However, I believe it will count for nothing in the end and that a decade from now her name will be a pub quiz question, if that.

I disagree. She is trying to get a Parliamentary vote on the matter and she is free to do that in a democracy where the rule of law is paramount.

Her actions have been disgraceful. Even if they are within the letter of the law, they are not within the spirit of the law. The people voted out. Let's get out.

The spirit of the law means literally nothing.

The people voted for uk parliament and uk courts to decide things for the uk public, which is what is going ahead. She has done nothing wrong at all. The law is the law who decides what is the spirit of the law is ?
