So Remainers had better accept it, had they? And what will you do if they don't? Burn their books, make them wear a remainer badge, sack them, vilify them, stifle their views, round them up, put them in camps, and goodness knows what else? You are treading a very dangerous path with your poisonouss views, so be warned: Brexit was the result of a dungheap of lies and spin peddled by a bunch of spivs, has-beens and wannabes aimed at the gullible looking for someone to blame their own situation, much of which was caused by their own government. So tough to you as well, you've seen nothing yet.

I think some of them are regretting the result, so they have to hit out in every direction to justify themselves.
I accepted the result the day it was announced, but I hope this ridiculous government can get something decent out of the wreckage. My main hope is that it will bring Scottish independence closer to reality.

What exactly are remoaners going to do? Take up arms? The most they will do it keep moaning on the internet and calling Brexiters, chavs, uneducated, old and about to die, etc etc. They're used to having things their own way, having the country run for their betterment, at the expense of everyone else. Ordinary people have had enough, and this is why we have Brexit.

Oh the irony. Moan about insults and then insult remain voters. You know believe it or not alot of ordinary people as you put it voted remain. It isn't just snowflakes and the metropolitan liberal elite (whoever the bloody hell they are?)

Remain voters are not the same as remoaners. The former are reasonable people, who accept the result and get on with making the best of things, and who we all hope will be well accommodated by Brexit.

The latter are bile-filled misanthropes who post (unwittingly hilariously) on DS.

Remainers and Brexiters are free to do whatever the law permits them to do, but the trampling of 48% of referendum voters after a tissue of lies will not do. If you don't like that, then tough! And how many ordinary people are you familiar with? If they share your views then they are far from being ordinary. Ordinary people may well have had enough - of the lies and deceipt of their own government, its selective austerity cuts and the advancement of the already rich and powerful. That's where the blame lies.

I am confused, was this a yes/no referendum or a proportional representation referendum. If it was the later - the 48% should be listened to and even promoted. If it is the former, the 48% should be sent leaflets on how democracy works.

As for the campaign, both sides lied.

Also are you saying that someone who works in a factory on the minimum wage and reads the Guardian is part of the metropolitan liberal elite?

As a person who voted to leave the EU, I would have to lie to other people otherwise they voted remain. Because freedom is not what some of my fellow young people would understand the meaning of. Truth to be told when I found out what the EU was I have always disliked it.

I didn't say readers of the Guardian were the metropolitan elite - I said read the Guardian to find out what metropolitan elite means. Just a suggestion; not compulsory.

Well that makes perfect sense.

Of course it is. The side of the bus was not official government information whereas the leaflet was and, strangely, no Remain sympathising MP ever said the government was not in a position to do as it indicated. I would think that most voters considered that if Leave won then the policy could be enacted with little fuss on procedure (the leaflet and the lack of contradiction of the leaflet indicated that).

An official government leaflet says what the governments intent is. The whole point is that most voters were led to believe that the government could do what it said it would. That belief was not countered by any MP. In that respect they were seriously misled both by government, MPs and many more. Most voters were not informed that it was Parliament that would have to give permission and no one even knew that specifically until the court case. If they did then they misled voters. The PM acting for the British people is a common occurrence in the EU Council of Ministers and parliamentary approval is rarely needed.

No I am not confused. The leaflet said the government will and no one said they cannot even though there seems to be a host of those who are now parliamentary gurus. As I have said the PM can act in Europe for the British people in the Council of Ministers. Blair did as regards energy targets, Rippon and Heath did as regards fisheries. It would not be an assumption too far, in fact it would be a reasonable assumption to believe that the government had that right. That is exactly what the voters were led to believe and no one, but no one said that it was wrong.

No-one is being "trampled". Leave won the refendum so Britain is leaving the EU. It's mostly the rich and powerful that were behind the Remain campaign, in case you didn't realise.

I hate to say this Blair, but I fully agree with you here.

You cannot yet claim the £350 million (or whatever the actual figure is) is a lie becasue we are still paying a figure to the EU. As far as I recall it was pointed out that EU were seeking Turkey as a member and Turkey were seeking to be a member. Which was true, if teh EU wanted they could have made Turkey a member anytime they wished as the vetoes are not cast by each country but by a minister from each country. If that veto is not cast then Turkey would have been a member. We know that many large fibs were told as regards Euro membership and we know the EU rules are broken on a regular basis when it suits the EU and the members to do so.
