Yes so am I. I can imagine Hell being something like that call centre! Awful place.

After tonight's Duff Duff it looks like the story will change direction from tomorrow and enter a new phase. I suppose we are meant to think that he is about to commit suicide but he actually won't go through with it. More family members will become aware of his depression being back.

So bored of him. They need to do something to drag this out to Easter.

Yep, I didn't want to spoil anything thats why I was being cryptic.

The spoilers give a bit of a gist but it might just be guesswork on my part esp as tonight was a suprise ending

It's a story about depression, what do you want him doing cartwheels? Getting up on the karaoke? Belting out a few tunes.

Sorry depression isn't glitzy or explosive enough for you.
You poor thing.

An exit tonight would have been spot on. Leave a cryptic note and walk away, never to seen again (or at least not for some considerable time).

Leave the Carters to wonder why and gradually piece together everything that has been happening.

Very well said.

The ignorance about this terrible illness is still so widespread it beggars belief.

It was summed up when Lee was looking at the 'Real Man' poster that was shown last night.

The young (and old) male victims of that mentality run into the thousands every single year.

There used to be more to Lee than this dullard he's become, his character was a real victim of Lucy's death, before that he was the man about town shagging Lucy on the floor of the restaurant, she dies and they lumber him with Whit-less who wants marriage and babies and as a result Lee's character ages about 20 years and all spark and possible future storylines are stripped from him as they attempted to mould him and Whit into a young Mick/Linda.

Despite being extremely well done, thought-provoking and informative, the whole point of Lee's storyline seems to be completely missed by a whole swathe of the audience.

I much prefer him now. His depression storyline has made his character three dimensional, instead of another stereotypical knuckle-dragging "ladies maaaan". Hasn't that been done to death by now?

If he really isn't going until Easter then why is the story being so emphasised now? It's taking away from Ronnie and Roxy's exits imo. I would have thought last night's episode was bringing this storyline to a head but seemingly not.

I have huge empathy for depression sufferers I had post natal depression after each of my 3 children but I have to say my heart sinks at the thoughts of another 3 months of this . That call centre is doing my nut in as Mick would say. They have shown Lee's descent into despair very well. Maybe he will get help now only to end up in prison for his part in the robbery?

If I worked in that place and had a wife like Whitney demanding a certain lifestyle while doing nothing to contribute to it I would be as low as Lee is right now too.

I think that would be new and really good, then he could be found or return in a couple of years, which would be a pretty dramatic comeback

Yes but when do you ever hear her say that she will pay for something? She just expects Lee to do it all.

I agree. I can't put up with that miserable face for much longer. I'm surprised Shirley hasn't given him a kick up the arse by now.

I'm not a Whitney fan but I've got to be fair to her here. She believes Lee has a well paid job so I can understand her being the way she is.

I find them quite unrealistic as a couple and actually find them both quite irritating. Why does Whitney act like a wife from the dark ages, in not knowing exactly what Lee does for a living or know what he earns and even their own financial situation, surely you should know what money is going in and out of your accounts. Surely this is basic stuff to know about each other in this day and age if you are settling down.

As a woman myself, I just find it hard to believe why she never questions his moods and in particular on their wedding night, you could tell he wasn't happy, not necessarily to do with her but just the situation he got himself into. She just walks around oblivious to it all, not a great start to a marriage when you don't even really know your husband that well!

Equally I know that depression can be difficult to handle but there are occasions where I wish he would just man up!

It's completely unbelievable that Whitney wouldn't know how much money they have. Surely her card would have been declined by now?

I think Lee was so brilliant last night I shouldn't be surprised SOC has withdrawn all holiday leave and is having scriptwriters rewrite scripts and camera crew etc. in to do new parts for the episodes. And drafted a new contract for Danny Boy.

stupid me - SOC saw the episode well over a month ago I guess - but could he have changed stuff so Lee end up surviving where he should not have done ?

They're a terrible couple who've been shoved together out of convenience given their similar ages and lack of anyone else for either of them to date.

It's so unrealistic how everybody can only find love on the square itself.

Yes but that's the same for all the soaps isn't it really Aaron? For 'soap' purposes they are normally confined to the set area aren't they?

They all probably feel safer that way. I mean look at what happened to Jay when he found an off-square girlfriend.

Exactly there is a lesson to be learnt there

He doesn't need a kick up the backside nor is he a dullard. He has depression

I am actually really suprised how many people still are not getting that he is acting how he is because he is ill.

It wouldn't be totally unreasonable to introduce characters off the main set and then bring them in though would it? Rather than have characters move in then find love.
