Playing the same character.

I have wondered this because Casualty and Holby City characters often make crossover guest appearances. (Eg: Henrik Hanssan appeared during the helicopter crash)

I can only think of Neighbours and Home and Away.

Holby City is a spin-off of Casualty which is probably why this happens. They're set in the same hospital.

I usually dont think of it as a spinoff because it is probably just as popular as Casualty but yes dont worry I know there are set in the same hospital. Are there any other soaps who have though?

Not exactly a soap opera but this happened between The Royal and Heartbeat, I can remember Claude Jeremiah Greengrass (Bill Maynard) being in a few episodes of The Royal. (Oh yeah I know it was a spin off)

Yes, it is a magical hospital where you walk in one side and its in the bristol area and then you head out via a&e and are magically transported to cardiff

I think these things have happened in the popular US soaps days of our lives and another one or I am sure they said it on real housewifes anyway

Matt Musgrave from Brookside later appeared in Hollyoaks as the same character. I think the actor died recently.

Shortly before Brookside ended it had the character Matt Musgrove migrate to Hollyoaks

Probably doesn't count, but Coronation Street character Reg Holdsworth appeared in a VHS spin-off for Emmerdale called Emmerdale: Don't Look Now! - The Dingles in Venice.

Closest thing I can think of is Claire Devine in Hollyoaks crossing over to EastEnders again as Claire Bates they weren't the same character but the character's scheming ways resembled her Oaks character and both were called Claire

As has been mentioned, Kristian Ealey appeared as Matt Musgrove in both Brookside and Hollyoaks. Brookside first and then Hollyoaks.

A 1998 episode of Brookside also featured two Hollyoaks characters, Ruth and Kurt, who were seen walking past as Jacqui and Katie talked on a bridge in Chester.

I don't know if these two count as soaps but didn't Footballers' Wives Tanya Turner cross over with Bad Girls in Season 6?

Yes, Ashley did - but only because he forgot what soap he was in. Sad, really.

It's happened a number of times on the American daytime soaps, especially The Young and the Restless and The Bold and The Beautiful, which were developed by the same people, though I don't know if they have still have the same production teams. It's been a long time since I watched a US daytime soap.

Zoe Lucker went from Footballers Wives to Bad Girls as Tanya Turner as both were made by Shed Productions who used to also make The Bill...I think this is right?
