Back in 2004, The Seven Network were planning a new drama series called Headland. This was originally meant to be a mix of new characters, along with current and past Summer Bay residents. This was due to Home and Away's success both at home and away (pun intended) and was thought viewers would buy into a new drama quicker with characters they knew. Unfortunately the crossover never happened and Headland was launched as a new standalone show. And swiftly axed.

I suppose you might count the Children in Need sketch where several Corrie characters fetched up in Walford and chatted to the locals.

Yes she was, she appeared on Holby City between 2004 and 2010.

Headland didn't Yvonne Strahovski appear in that show before going to Chuick?

That was 2010 and the episode was called East Street.

Some of the Corrie cast went to Walford and some EE cast went to Weatherfield.

In Weatherfield there was instant animosity between Zainab and Sunita, and the episode culminated in Liz MacDonald serving in the Vic and declaring "Yes, I am!" to Kat Slater's statement "You're not my mother!"

Brookside had someone reading a newspaper whose main headline was the plane crash in Emmerdale. That's the closest I can think of.

I remember watching that episode and being amazed

Yeah Brookside and Hollyoaks have had crossovers!

Matt from Brookside went onto be in Hollyoaks as the same character.

Brookside featured Ruth and Kurt (I think) in a episode of Brookside.

Also, towards the end of Brookside, Nikki, Emily, Time, Jimmy and I think Jerome, went for a night out to "The Loft in Chester" which was indeed The Loft in Hollyoaks.
